would you willingly take yourelf out of a playoff game? he's a man, not like Michalek who laid there playing dead.
- flyersfan51

Michalek finished the game. If Grossmann is such he man he should of sucked it up.

those aren't even comparable. 8 games for "After the horn sounded signaling the end of the period....." At that point there is no need to watch any more of either video.

No one is going to suggest the disciplinary process is consistent, but you can't compare these two hits. One occurred in the course of play. The other took place after the horn...not just after the whistle..but after the horn.

Go back to watching the Leaf's Pro-Am

- akane13

So you´re basically saying, although not possessing the puck, all hits on unexpecting players are ok.. AS long as the period is not ended..??
Both players weren´t expecting the hit (one could argue that Wizniewski actually suspected because of the direct eye-contact.. Couturier didn´t even saw Neal coming, so that´s even a worse case.. regardless or not of the ´after the horn´ part..

Flyers deserve (and will!) win game 5 and the series.
Neal deserves a nice clean body-check to remind him that dirty plays will not be tolerated.
Penguins need to stop crying and start getting a bit more objective; the team´s behaviour has been far from respectably and not worthy of the talent present in this team..

Thank tips.

other than rinaldo being a jackass, what player on the flyers have shown disrespect during the game -- meaning going for cheap shots?

this is a joke right?

Ya, that first goal was tough, if Giroux played it cleanly, Fleury probably stops it. That second one made me cringe.

Friday really is huge. A pens win (especially a convincing one) puts the pressure all on Philly, and they have to go home and face their reactionary media, and Bryz will be a mess.

There is no way Dan puts Martin back in, right?

Granted I don't know the context you were coming from and work has me working right now so I can't read the previous posts yet but...

If Crosby was such a man he should have sucked it up and played with a concussion? Yup, that is as stupid as what you said.

I hope John puts his new blog up soon..Will try and give a fair and honest assessment of what I saw, from a Flyers perspective , last night.

If the Malkin hit was so bad shouldn't Grossmann have left the game then, instead of playing another period or so...
- Ben37

Ask Crosby that same question....

Shanny uses a different dartboard for the post season.
- tangent_man

yeah, the board is cut into 10 pieces. 4 of them are no games, 4 is 1 game and 1 is a fine and the last one is 3 games, just to show that they mean business!!

Read the post, there was no complaining about any of those from us Pens fans. Please troll properly. I defended no one including Cooke at any time after that mess.

The 1 gamer for Automatically has been thrown out before

- ryman1566

You have some serious problems of comprehensive reading and reasoning.

The argument was ´no pens fans are complaining about the suspensions´. Then, related to that, there was a comment on the Cooke, Asham and Adams´ suspensions.. So don´t try to be smart with your ´read the post´ comment..
If you´re not too smart, that´s no problem, but then do not pretend to be smart with some Bozo comment..

We also dealt with a 17 gamer to Cooke without much complaining either. And 4 to Asham, and even the 1 for Adams.
- ryman1566

yeah those are all insignifcant layers. If Malkin, Crosby or Staal did any of those, there probably wouldn't have been suspensions.

Not talking about just our series, but these playoffs as a whole. Nobody is showing anybody, any kind of respect. Therefore not one single team should be singled out for it. It is a league wide problem.

He's no Raffi Torres.

The Caps exposed Malkin some in 24/7 when they showed how he commits a penalty when he is hit/bumped etc. And he does need to learn to skate away at times for sure. Much better this year than previous ones. But I was pissed when he took that penalty off the faceoff at the beginning last night.

- ryman1566

what's your honest take on the hit on grossmann?

3-0 is a huge lead in the playoffs, and well, game 1...
- Gunner Staal

3-0 is not 8-3.

I asked if Grossman was so badly injured from the Malkin hit, which according to some Flyer fans is suspension worthy why did he continue to play the game, until the Kennedy hit. Which a Flyer fan shot back about how he's a man and didn't lay on the ice like Michalek. Who finished the game.

I'm sure Grossmann is hurt, but from which hit? The supposedly suspendable hit or the Kennedy hit?

The Kennedy hit did the damage, but I think the uproar with Malkin is the question of intent.

Not needed, borderline at best. Would have been reviewed if Grossman went down and play stopped, IMO. Kudos to him for staying in the play, honestly hope he is ok, we've seen enough concussions to last a life time

IMO, Henrik Sedin should be getting a call for what he did last night as well. That was pretty bad with the guy on his knees like he was
