Unbelievably one-sided review of the game....you call yourself a blogger. You are just like the team you "cover"-(i cant emphasize that any less) You can't handle the fact that the darlings of the NHL aren't cruising ,and are trying to pick gnatcrap out of pepper to legitimize and justify things.

Just call it down the middle......that is all anyone should and could ask for.

Right....Crosby was only playing to the whistle while slapping at Bryz's glove a good few seconds after the whistle. He wasn't doing that out of frustration and expecting to get away with it.....right?

that's not accurate at all. I've seen dozens of objective posts from Flyer fans over the past couple of days.

You're right. I'm sorry, there have been dozens of objective posts. To go along with the hundreds of troll posts. To be fair it hasn't just been Flyer fans either, it's been Ranger fans, Islander fans and Leaf fans as well.

- ryman1566

That is the only thing giving me hope... The Flyers have played well, I'm not taking anything away from them, but if the Pens played three games as well as they could have and still lost, I would have no hope. But we've all see how bad the Pens have played, and they were in each game after two periods. If they can get their crap together, they can make a run at this.

Obvious problem is that they have zero wiggle room, and have shown nothing as far as correcting their mistakes.

I don't think Team Bloggers need to call it down the middle, do they?

Tim Panaccio called Asham's punch to Schenn 'Assault'.

While it was bad...and nobody here thinks he should have done it...if you watch the replay...he barely grazed him and that would simply not be assault by anyone's standards, would it?

I actually have seen a number of Flyer fans agree that what Asham did was not nearly as bad as it looked.

Just sayin'....

Ok, understood about bring a "team blogger", however, don't you lose credibility when you write a game summary and add in your interpretation, (in the specific way of taking shots at players in an extremely hypocritical way) rather than the actual events of the game?

I have been a visitor to this site for years, and love reading the discussion.

Although I like Tim Panaccio as a basic flyers media guy, he is by no means an "insider" or hockey authority. The things that come out of his mouth make me lose my mind when i think that he has been fortunate to have made a career of covering the sport. He is scooped on news involving the team and players he is in the same room with, by guys thousands of miles away.

I take your point, and agree. Just for future reference, don't paint all flyers fans with the broad stroke of tpanotch.

I won 2 free big mac coupons that were dropped from the blimp back in the day. That is about all I have every won when it comes to the pens.
- kgrpitt

We used to sprint around the arena in our younger days(12 yrs old) chasing those blimps for what was essentially garbage prizes. Got a little tougher to follow when they would only fly them over the igloo club sections we could get into.
I almost got an envelope one tie but it floated down the seatback of some angry female senior citizen. When I reached down to grab it, she ripped it out of my hand.

I can count the objective Flyer posts with four fingers. Sorry, one thing that is a given is there are very few objective Flyer fans. One thing that I have noticed, they all have very short memories and forget what their nickname is; where it came from and how they earned that nickname. The way Flyer fans have chirped off their rants with the sanctimonious BS, but forget the fact this type of play was not only built by the Flyers themselves; utilized frequently over their existance, but applauded by the Flyer fan base. Now, when its used on them, you cry. Very hypocritical fan base if I ever saw it.
- Oneonta Penguin

If they are Flyers season ticket holders there is no reason that the "Broad Street Bullies" image should be forgotten. I feel I am probably in the minority of Flyer fans on this, but I am sick and tired of the organization and fans constantly celebrating the actions of a team from almost 40 years ago, it is 2012 not 1975. However, at the same time I get annoyed when opposing fans try to throw that back at Flyer fans. Yes, it happened and I won't deny or try to hide from what this organization once did, but it doesn't justify anything that happens to players in 2012 who weren't even born in the 70s. I'll admit a large number in the fanbase still wants to live in the 1970s, but not all of us feel that way. I can be embarassed or unhappy with the way my team plays and the way the fans act, but it is not going to stop me from cheering for my team. I am sure everyone can agree with that regardless of their rooting interest.

I understand you are commenting more on the fans, not the players just remember not all of us are that bad and hate the Penguins and everything about the team and their fans.

Good luck to your team tonight guys. Personally, i hope all of the shenanigans are done with and both teams play competitive hockey. As much "fun" as these 10+ goal games have been, I'd like to see a game controlled by solid defense and great goaltending. I don't know if either team is good enough to stop each other's offense, but that's what I want to see. I have a feeling that since pitt will be missing 4? (not sure if martin is playing or not) players, this game won't be as wide open compared to the first 3 games.

Really interested to see how tonight. If the flyers win, I hope there's nothing stupid from either side and if the pens win, buckle your seatbelt.

I know we have been battling back and forth for the last 100 years but all pens and flyers fans should go on youtube and search Hitler is disgusted with the Penguins. All should get a kick out of it. I would post a link but i'm at work and unable to. Let me know what you think I was cracking up.

My bad, should have been more to the point. Mainly the T-Shirt garbage and that newspaper cover of Sid are just in poor taste. The neverending name calling of Crosby is just downright shameful. The players have been very good, although all that stuff Lavy screamed to the press in the regular season really got the ball rolling.

Seems to have worked though, Torts piled on after Milbury and the Penguins lost any resemblance of the hockey team that made them successful.

For what it's worth, I don't paint all Flyers fans the same way

When someone comes here, they are who they show themselves to be.

I think it's safe to say that at least 1/2 of the comments from Flyer fans in this blog are less than 'hockey talk'.

I don't have the actual stats...so it is just a guess.

I'm sure it happens elsewhere...but my experience here has been that we see a lot of the Flyer fans wanting to say and do things that they think we should not say and do. The double standard our fans and team have been accused of so frequently.

I pointed this out in my blog from yesterday...and several comments today in Ek's blog.

You have to expect team bloggers to have a bit of homer in them...otherwise just pick anybody to write about the team.

JT's a good guy. He's allowed his opinion and you are welcome to challenge that...otherwise, they wouldn't allow comments, would they?

anything could happen, its up to the team and coach to find the weak links and fix the problems...

I am getting sick of all the papers and radio shows talking about the things that could have made this a different series... 1 win against the islanders/ one more goal on bryz and he gets pulled in game 1 to go up 4-0, briere being called offsides/ staal hitting the net and not the post in game 2/ pp/pk/ rebounds/ bryz not saving letang... geez there are soooooooooooo many things that could have changed the game. no one is looking on how to improve the problems but us fans, lol... if they take it one shift at a time, one period at a time, one game at a time it will calm them down and they will play better...

To be fair.... i thought the t-shirt and newspaper were tactless. Eventhough the flyers are up 3-0, it shouldn't give fans or the media the "right" to be unclassy.

This isn't directed any any Flyers fans, and also not directed at 95% of our Pens bloggers, but I just read that Pittsburgh listeners voted the organization as the often laughed at 'Jagoff of the Week' on one of the local radio programs and I for one have had enough of it. So please excuse me for a minute, but I need this....

If any one who has watched this team for their lifetime, or since Mario, hell, even since Sid (screw anyone that calls them bandwagoners, all teams have this sorta thing) can forget what this team has given us for the last 20+ years and turn on them for a bad week of hockey, then I ask you to get lost, and go root for the damned Pirates, and after watching that abomination that is working on 20 losing seasons, maybe you will realize what we have here is pretty damned good. Take your moral high horse and go root for a 'good guy' like Ben Roethlisberger or James Harrison (alleged woman beater), or Rashard (bin laden sympithizer) Mendenhall and stay away from us.

We will be over here rooting for the impossible.

the T shirt stuff is just in fun, and if the Pens gave away free white T shirts with funny sayings I'd say the same thing.

But, the newspaper cover of Crosby is downright embarrassing. Although I feel that Sid has taken a step backwards in maturity this series, what they did with the newspaper cover is 10 times more immature. Ridiculously immature.
