Public perception is a funny thing. I;ll share this story because I wasn't involved and it's completely innocent. There was a wawa in my town when I was growing up. The cops would be there all the time at night. People got together and complained to the township. Come to find out the cops were told to go there because the wawa was plagued by a string of robberies that no one heard about in the paper. These people just took it upon themselves to go crying wolf to the township. After that though if the place got robbed yea it made it to the papers. It did get robbed a lot, was on a county road with not much around it especially at night. Wawa actually moved out of there and today it's just a regular convienance store can't remember the name. - JoeRussomanno
I like the police for the most part. I understand if I ever need them they will be there and they do a lot of good things.
I have an issue with the "upper management". It seems to be only after money. Up here in Winnipeg they put up red light traffic cameras a few years ago. There were signs about a block away that warned drivers of these cameras. They took down the signs a little while ago as the cameras werent making enough profit.
I constantly see radar cars near construction areas when there are no workers there that day.
Speed limits at rediculous numbers in double lane areas where there are no crosswalks or schools present.
The most annoying thing is that Manitoba Public Insurance, the government's car insurance company for this province gave the police money in an effort to help them catch "bad drivers". It's been all through the papers. Not some conspiracy theory. In turn there was a quota that needed to be met.

Or catching outlaws on motorcycles. Everytime I watch that series on Bio it seems like its about a biker gang in Canada. It's strange I would think Canada to be an unappealing place to ride, just because of the cold weather. Anything under 60 degrees was hell for me when I rode. |

There's a huge difference between what a player should be able to do in the NHL at age 19 vs. what you should be able to do at age 25.
Worthy of consideration, but that's why Read isn't in the top 3. - bradleyc4
The Calder Memorial Trophy is an annual award given "to the player selected as the most proficient in his first year of competition in the National Hockey League."[NHL.com]
We can argue "proficient" but then I would say Court's is the current best all around player. Not in points but by the definition of proficient |

Now that all the idiots have put their brooms away, and the damned paper isn't running high school level photoshops as "clever" and "funny" headlines, maybe we can see our team go out and just play a game and forget the nonsense. - Jsaquella

Dan Rosen @drosennhl Giroux on Bryz: "He's going to be great tonight. I've got a feeling. He's focused and he wants to win. He can't wait for tonight."
drosennhl: Giroux: "We don't really like the fans here & it's like we have something to prove to the fans that we're better than them."
RT @drosennhl: Giroux: "It's going to be bumping in Philly and we need to give them a reason to celebrate." - KGBflyers10
I love him so very much.
But then, I really love the guys on this team. I love them in all their variety of style, personality, ability. They are the model of how diversity in the workplace is supposed to work. It means you have each base covered but each person's abilities and strengths show up on different bases, with their weaknesses compensated for by the strengths of their mates. Individually there are lacks, but as a whole it all just works. Sigh. Love them.

Just get back to how they were playing the first three games. Look it was 1 awful game were they seemed to be in slow motion. This is there game tonight to wrap up the series. They are back to being the underdog and they like it. Pressure is on the pens, in their building and a must win. The boys just need to play like they have no fear of the pens, whatever they bring the boys can take and just keep moving. |
