agreed. they've played dirty all series and have attempted, successfully, to injure and remove players from the game and series. - hammarby31
Yup. The Penguins are living in a glass house though. Worse comes to worse, go flying and jump up into Letang and Crosby and lay them out. And get what, 1 game? Or if you're Malkin, 0 games and the opportunity to do it again the next game. |

he was wide open, but your $51m goalie should make a big save - Girouxtiful
Its a rocket from the dot with nobody challenging. Thats a tough stop on any goalie. |

You would like him to make a game changing save, but he didn't. But he is not to blame here. Man some fans jump ship and turn on their team real quick, We are in the middle of a playoff series here. And there is still a period to go. And if the Flyers happen to lose this game, they still have a 3-2 lead in the Series.

It was square on the shoulder, even with Coots leaning over... - nhindian
They just showed it twice in Philly. Head and shoulder was primary point of impact. |

really piss poor 2nd period for the Flyers. lots of standing around ... and on half the dump ins they had NO speed in the neutral zone. Easy as pie for the Pens to get the puck and come out.
they gotta play this 3rd like THEY'RE the ones down 3 game to 1. |

It's close, looked mostly on the shoulder, but could have been a little chin there. |

Lavi still has his timeout right? He should be in the room reinforcing that they need to play disciplined, play smart, agressive hockey, and win the next god damned period. This is the time to shine for guys like G, Briere, and Jagr. Pedal to the metal fellas! |

+1 - rockychocbill
The puck was not rolling to the corner....it was going to the sidewall....skaters were drifting to the corner, thats why malkins supposed change of direction appeared aggregious. |

2nd goal.
The angle they showed had Bryz with the top of his glove pointed at the shooter. Shoulder to elbow to hand angle looked fine, but the glove was pointed forward, glove was short side. Shot short side.
He then tries to make the save by lifting is entire arm from the shoulder.
Is that what gets taught?
I would think it would be more effective to keep the glove pointing vertically. If anything it makes the short hole above the shoulder look smaller and less desirable. - nails
glove positioning is a matter of preference. some guys like to hold it up and forward facing like you're telling someone to stop (but not that pronounced). others prefer to have it turned more outward to the side. some guys like to keep it low, and tucked at the hip, like thomas (and he got burned by semin last night because of it). some high. generally, the motion to catch it in a situation like that should generate from the elbow, not from the shoulder.
from what i could see his angle looked off to me and he gave staal room to pick the corner. would need another replay to be sure. |

Have to spend some time in the offensive zone 5 on 5 this period. Not nearly enough of that. |

I am as objective as anybody and i'm telling you Malkin is dirty. I have no idea if he knew Couturier was there and went for it or not but that's his game. He is sneaky and a super star so he gets the benefit of the doubt. It's no different than Ovie.

Agreed. Have to start putting pressure on the Pens defense. Were not forcing the puck down low were we have dominated in this series. |

That hit wasn't an accident. Malkin knew exactly what he was doing there.

If you ever get the chance to see the NBC feed, check it out.
There are things I coach about where I teach them to let gravity help you out. My brain says it should be easier to drop the glove than raise it |
