I think Read's age hurt him. Not important really, Flyers got a heck of a player in Read. - PLindbergh31

not like it's completely out of nowhere. he's a legit prospect and he's only 22. - OrangeBlack27
Exactly my point. Next year when he's swiss cheese nobody will be talking about him.
He could be good one day, though. |

A heck of a player without using a draft pick - eayost
Well with Holmgren dealing draft picks like they are Tim Horton's gift cards, Flyers have to sign college free agents and hope to find a player here and there. |

I hope they let them play tonight, and not like the other night which was a complete abortion. |

It would be nice to see an actual hockey game played tonight. A win wouldn't hurt either |

Couturier, as a guest of Comcast SportsNet's "Daily News Live" on Wednesday evening, said he was "knocked out" and "unconscious" after Neal's suspension-worthy hit late in the third period.
When asked for a clarification by the Daily News, Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren said it was the first he was hearing of Couturier possibly losing consciousness.
Couturier said he received a baseline concussion test after the game. When asked to further clarify his comments, Couturier admitted that he did say he lost consciousness on "Daily News Live'' but that he misspoke. Couturier said the correct phrase would be that he was "seeing stars.''

I did not expect Matt Read to win the Calder Trophy but had outside hope he'd at least be in the top three of the balloting. Finalists are Landeskog, Henrique, and Nugent-Hopkins. In all honesty, the right choices.
With the time RNH missed, I think Landeskog won the ballot. But we'll see. - bmeltzer
I think this is just wrong. RNH and Landeskog do have more points, but thier teams missed the playoffs. Really if you look at which rookie had the biggest role, and contributed the most to the team it would have to be Henrique or Read... And because Read kills penalities and is better defensively with the offensive skills, I would have given it to him... |

The defense is in absolute tatters. Going to have to probably score at least 4 goals to win, and maybe more. - PLindbergh31
if bryz is hurt try 11 |
