At what point did Giroux say anything negative or even hint that the refs had anything to do with the outcome of that game?

Surprisingly, Claude Giroux said he was going to check on who the referees for tonight's Game 5 would be, after the way Chris Lee and Wes McCauley called Game 4: "I think it is important we know who is reffing. Different guys call the game different ways. We know who is going to let us play a little bit and who's going to call everything. Last game was the case of calling everything. I think they did a good job but we'll have to look who is working."

I don't think he's happy they got embarrassed on home ice. The refs don't dictate the outcome of the game the players do. The Flyers need to play much better to close the Pens out. They got outworked and gave little effort. I expect to see a much better Flyers team tonight.

All i can go on is read that quote and in doing that all he says is "they called everything last game" You can't really tell the emotion behind it.. unless he bolded it then we know he meant to shoot a wrist shot at each ref!

One thing about Giroux, to this point in his career, he has not made excuses. If you asked him directly he would most likely say "the refs had nothing to do with the outcome of that game we just sucked."

haha that would be ideal. i dont know what is all going on as far as the game though. i dont know whats worse. missing it entirely or having the university having a viewing screen or whatever else has been rumored. it may be better to not watch it at all then to have to put up with a ton of extremely drunk and stupid first time flyer fans going crazy.

Keys to Victory (because Steigy and Errey's suck)

1. Need production from our top guns. Neal is back in the lineup and i'm sure it was tough for him to watch from the box in game 4. Malkin and Letang finally decided to wake up for Game 4. Staal and Crosby have been our best two players this series.

2. MAF needs to play better, but the defense needs to be better. I like the 7 d format. I really liked Despres, he played a simple game. Defense needs to get the puck in our zone and get it out. none of these east-west or fancy passes. get the puck, send it up the boards and our forwards need to be waiting there for it. quick transition is the key for our defense tonight. MAF looked much better in the 2nd and 3rd, hopefully he got some confidence and is ready for tonight

3. stay out of the box. dont let that Flyers PP on the ice. they are just too good.

4. Be safe on the PP. we cant be taking stupid risks. cover each other and make sure 2 guys are on the point. cant be giving up 2 on 1s and breakaways. play responsible hockey.

5. set the tone early and keep it. the arena will be rocking so the penguins need to come out and play hard and get a PP or a big goal. once that happens, safe defense is the answer but not this defensive shell crap. get the lead and hold onto it.

BOOM. my hand hurts. but in all seriousness, anyone trying to predict this game is kidding themselves. no one has any idea. just need to wait and see. having grossman out will help Malkin. we really need to attack the bottom pairing for the flyers hard. they are just terrible.

should be fun tonight! lets not lose 3 straight series at home

It is getting so close I can taste it. I almost had to miss the game tonight as I had a date planned with a female I work with, but luckily she baled on it. Never thought I would be so happy to have a woman cancel a date on me!
