How bout instead of quibbling over what player is at fault for opposition goals, how bout Bryzgalov do what the goalies in every other series is doing, start erasing some mistakes. This .848 save % crap is unacceptable. |

Briere wasn't at fault for either goal. - MJL
HE wasn't within 10 feet of any penguins on that play. Defensive hockey doesn't take a great strategic mind to play, just guts and effort. |

On the Kennedy goal, Briere was exactly where he was supposed to be. Near the circle on his side of the ice, near his point. Simmonds was the guy who was out of position covering nobody.
It seems to me that if a goal is scored against when Briere is on the ice, you'll blame him regardless of the circumstances. |

If one of your team mates falls out of position, then you pick up someone likely to get the puck and score. The flow of that play was going right back to Kennedy.
It doesn't make a difference he coasted saw the pass go back to Kennedy and just stood there while Kennedy ate a bag of chips, surveyed the net, set up and blasted a puck past our gimp goalie. |

There have been a lot of mistakes erased by Bryzgalov in this Series. Just go back and look at the save highlights for each game. True he is not stealing games, or standing on his head right now. But he certainly played well enough to win in game 5.

So the subject is being changed to a player you love to quibble about. Gotcha.

And if he did so, he then leaves his point and Orpik is wide open. Briere was positioned properly. If Briere was skating full speed over there, he had zero chance to get there. The mistake was made by Simmonds, who failed to rotate back up high after being down low to cover for Kubina who was up ice. If anything that goal falls on Simmonds and Kubina. Briere played his position properly.

Briere wasn't at fault on that goal either. He was in the correct postion and had his check. It was Simmonds that was out of position and blew the coverage. - MJL
Simmonds somehow ends up in front of the goal by himself and ends up screening Bryz. Thats odd. Carle forces Cooke to the outside and does his job. Schenn is on Staal. It seems to be actually Kubina who floats away from Kennedy and tries to go where the puck. Complete cluster(frank). I suspect because of the size mismatch between Briere and Staal, Schenn may effectively be playing center in our d-zone and getting the defensive coverage responsibilities. But I don't see how Briere or Carle could be at fault on this play. |

Anderson and Holtby are getting tons of help aren't they? Facing a shooting gallery every game. |

They also said they've had conflicting reports. He probably is out but they don't see to be 100% sure. |

If Briere didn't pull a Carter in game 5, they would of tied it at 3.

I believe he's probably out, but why the heck did he skate yesterday? If he's got a concussion, sit him. |

Kubina is up ice for some reason, I forget why. You can't see on the replay. But Kubina correctly moves back towards the goal, Simmonds should have rotated back up high to his point coverage. But he didn't. Instead he wandered towards the front of the net. I guess he saw it as uncovered. This left the point area wide open.
