I didn't notice a lot of Simmonds this game but when I did, he was his usual self. I wouldn't suggest the ice time down due to his lack of play. I think it was to keep him from getting in trouble. Simmonds is engaged in the rivalry. - roenick97
A Coach isn't going to lessen a player like Simmonds icetime just to keep him out of trouble. They had a game to win. Simmonds just hasn't played that well the last few games. That's why he didn't play much today.

The Flyers were very physical today, the most physical game I have seen them play in a while. |

If the Pens were ever really in control, I think we would have saw more of Simmonds. The Pens were out of it early. I think they had one or two really strong shifts after our first goal but after that first period, it was just over for them. |

I don't care who we play. Bring them on. This team can beat anyone.

You may be right but imo Simmer hasn't been very good this series. Today he on the pp and took a weak low % backhander on Fleury with no traffic (Hartnell was behind the net and should have received the pass). |

They could get Florida if Boston wins along with Ottawa. |

The Flyers have a lot of walking wounded, they don't want to play another physical team like Boston, I want Florida next round. |

Today's game was beautiful. Great way to send them home for the summer. |

@johnclarknbc10: Claude Giroux told Briere and Talbot before the game: "watch this first shift." The boys said G had that look in his eyes
Love. It.

Grossmann will be ready for round two. Meszaros might be too. For all we know kubina could be healed up by then. Would like to know what's wrong with him. |

Simmonds is probably dinged up like everybody else. A little rest will do everybody good.

Gustafsson. Kid needs to stay in the lineup. |

Looks like we're leveling up. We don't know who we're facing next and we're about to get more healthy. We're going to need an injury update for Meszaros and Grossmann. - roenick97
i'd like a hint on what's wrong w/simmonds he seems injured too |

Got no problem sitting Kubina if Gust can keep playing like he did today. |

Played 22 minutes today, I find it hard to believe he comes out of the lineup even if Meszy and Grossmann come back. He competes hard along the boards and his skating is an asset.

Still want Grossmann with Coburn again. I'm not ready to give up on that pair. But Carle and Timmonen might be too much of a certain style. |

Agreed, got keep getting guys healthy, good chance others will go down during the playoffs. Although I think Lava will keep Grossmann with Coburn and Kimmo with Carle.

Just based on this series, I think Holmgren has to get GM of the year. Guy got lambasted by the national media for those trades and the Bryzgalov signing. Looks pretty smart now if you ask me. |
