Personally, I wish we could move on from the criticizing of Richards and Carter, or even mentioning them. They're gone. That was then, this is now. How hard did the Flyers compete in game 5? You can like this team and the players we got in the trades without ripping Carter and Richards. Although it seems some times it's a rule or something that you have to do that.
And to be clear, I'm not saying that's what you were doing. This is in general. - MJL
Understand, I was more or less mentioning the ability of the leadership of this team to get this team to play really hard and not quit under any circumstance. Obviously, it all begins with Giroux, but credit has to be given to a guy like Talbot. Teams in the recent past, I just didn't get the same feel. Was it Richie or Carter's fault? No, but unfortunately Richie and Carter had to be moved for Giroux to take over this team. I give credit to the organization for realizing what they had in Giroux and make the necessary changes for him to excel.

I think a lot people will be negative about those two for a while because when they came up it was like the second coming of Clarke and Barber which wasn't fair to those guys either. However I will say this we have a team you can really root for now. As ticked off as I was at last season's conclusion this season has more than made up for it and carrying negativity is a waste of energy.
bruins just put 1 shot on net in 4 mins of PP time. I'm shaking in my boots with them - Just5
I think we can beat any team. But I would also respect any opponent the Flyers may play. Regardless of who the Flyers play, it will not be easy. Tim Thomas can beat any team, when he's on.
What perfect timing to be negative, right after the Flyers have knocked off one of the Cup favorites in the opening round of the playoffs. In my opinion the signing looks great right now. How long has the game been over? Maybe an hour? Unbelievable. - MJL
What do you think of Gus moving forward? Dress or sit in favor of Lilja? I thought Lilja rebounded nicely and had a nice Game 5 and 6. I dont blame him for the goal today, not much you can do in that situation.

Of course, I would never short change their talent. On the flip side, the trades really couldn't have come out any better. The talent the organization acquired has set this team up for the next decade. As good as Staal was in this series (and he was very good), Coots in two years will be just as good. Schenn's game translates very well in playoff hockey.

Well... Flyers fans were cursing Bryz earlier in the series when his play was highly questionable. Yes, Philadelphia won but his overall performance still left a lot of question marks so I don't pretend everything is suddenly OK.

IMO we need Lilja more in a Bos/NYR matchup - Just5
Gustafsson played well. Couldn't ask for anything more from him today. Regardless of the opponent, I play Lilja first.

I'm not trying to be negative, just realistic. - atc

No, some Flyers fans were cursing Bryzgalov. Remember back in 2010 when the Flyers went to the Finals? And had to play Montreal when Halak was smoking hot? Things change. I read how hot MAB was getting. How'd that work today? Things change. There is one stat that is most important. And that is W's. Bry had 4 in the first Series. All that matters. And realistically, everything is great. We just knocked off the Pens!

He looked bad because both teams were playing wide open with little attention to detail defensively. In the last two games they both settled down unfortunately for the pens, Bryzgalov was better today.
But they still beat the pens 4-2 in the series. - LJF
Exactly and that is a huge positive for the team and Bryzgalov. To know that we can beat a great team like the Pens with Bryz not playing his best means that once he finally gets his game together we will be much harder to beat.

Amazing when people forget Vegas made the Pens at 4-1 a prohibitive favorite to win the Stanley Cup before the playoffs. Bryz did enough to get the job done, I have complete faith in him. I'm hoping some time off will give him some time to heal up.
