I guess falling short has its different definitions or interpretations.

What??? Are you saying the nucks didn't fall harder/further than the Leafs?

I honestly think that Vancouver fans, most of them, would have to admit that the Canucks were a bigger disappointment than the Leafs this year.

a better team, a better organization, a more promising future... but much more of a disappointment this year.

We traded away two of the three picks from the Pronger trade, and the other became Eberle. But as for the guys we got back immediately, we were just so pissed at what happened that we weren't willing to give Smid or Lupul a chance. His so-so season was insult to injury. I think that's why a lot of people are anti-Lupul/

SERIOUSLY!!!!!

I dunno about you, but I've received PM's and flagged posts for stuff that I have to re-read like 3 times to come to the conclusion of "are you serious, this post makes you want to have this guy banned?"

I disagree, I think we had an extremely disappointing season. Comparing us to a bottom feeder team like Toronto. They had limited expectations while ours was another Cup run and we get beat out by the 8th place team in five frickin games.

Toronto is bad and everyone knows they're bad. We on the other hand are good and failed to live up to expectations.

hehe, not from me. I don't have too many people get into it with me. If people say dumb things, I just ignore them. I'm not one to really run to the teacher and say Johnny stole my gum. I'm more of the guy that stalks Johnny and then stabs him in the kidney with a fork.

i could see a one for one swap because of contracts Vinny for Lou helps both teams but still makes them pay for signing those dumb decade+ long contracts.

Lou said he would waive his NTC i doubt Vinny will waive his though...

their 1st year in nhl is Toronto's 1st year of drought. I find it hilarious when they talk of the drought.
- burn

Exactly...I don't get it.

And when you say "at least toronto has cu banners hanging from the rafters"

You get the convenient reply of "that's pre-expansion, doesn't count"

...ok, so how many cups do you have hanging from your rafters, cause I'd love to go on a tour sometime?

I felt weird about the team all year after January 7th.

They played like crap and still managed to win on goal tending.

It's hilarious... used to go to Leaf/Sabre games in Buff all the time. If they won they are taunting us on the way out about 40 years, 67..... and if they lose they are taunting about 40 years 67. How original. They shut up pretty quick when you remind them that they are 3 years behind the Leafs in their drought.

What if only Columbus, Edmonton and Toronto make serious offers to Vancouver, and Luongo has no interest in any of those cities.

We might see Schneider traded. I doubt it, I think Vancouver would instead take whatever they get from the cities Lou *would* go to.

I would be very surprised if Luongo did not have some pretty strong feelings on where he does or does not want to play... and he still holds the cards here.

Come on dude...let's compare some Leafs vs. Canucks stats

Cup wins in the last 40 years
Leafs - 0
Canucks - 0

Target acheivment this year:
Leafs - make the playoffs
Canucks - win the cup

Actual acheivement accomplished:
Leafs - missed the playoffs terribly with a lottery pick
Cancuks - out in 5 games to the 8th seed

Sounds like the past 40 years and this year have been equally "short" on accomplishments for both teams.

You can put all the seasonings you want on a rice cake (leafs and canucks past 40 years of accomplishments)...in the end it's still not a bacon cheeseburger (stanley cup).
