A contract until he's in his early 40's for a goalie who does really well in the regular season, but is regularly the weakest link in crunch time?

Yeah, I'm sure teams will be tripping over themselves for his services.

It will be like the Peyton Manning watch all over again

So you think Luongo will be back in Vancouver next year? Unless they bury him in the minors?

They can think what they want Lu will be dealt on draft day to CBJ or TB.

But he's such a wealth of hockey knowledge. I'll take his word over sports reporters any day of the week.

I don't see them hiding him in the minors. Some GM desperate to save his job will probably trade a bad contract to Vancouver to try to save his own ass thinking they can turn him around and make him useful.

NJ might take a shot. Columbus would see him as an upgrade. Tampa might go for it. And you never know with the Islanders.

The goal is to win the cup, and he doesn't seem to have the mental make up tp suck it up when it matters most.

If the Isles somehow got him they would possess the two single worst goaltending contracts in the history of hockey, at the same time. I'd take him if we gave up literal peanuts for him, which won't happen.

I know, that's what makes it even funnier. Holtby just stone-faced with his arms crossed and not flinching, and then staring him down when he skates away.

You go from laughing at me at the thought of trading Luongo then you give me 4 teams that would be interested. Glad you're consistent in your thoughts. Not sure Lamoriello counts as a GM that would be "desperate to save his own ass" though.

I can't wait till when Montreal try to re-sign Price long term and he tells them to shove it. Lu will look pretty good then

When Lolongo gets traded, Vancouver Cannots fans will finally admit it...
- SofaKingBored

Now I know you visit Canucks threads more often than most... by mid season myself and a few others (Vantel etc..) had convinced Canucks nation that Luongo sucks and needs to be traded. Since he's now a trade piece, we'd be silly to go back and say how bad he is... of course we need to pump his tires now and wait for him to be sent packing before we go back to talking about how bad he is.
