And why would he want to? There's so much positive things happening on Long Island. - hankthetank
I meant more via trade. And don't get me wrong, I don't drink the Islanders kool-aide, but something has to be going on that he likes enough to extend his contract 6 years, before his entry level even expired. |

Tavares is still too young and has too much potential to give up in almost any deal, but because of a late start due to an injury, people forget that Kesler is 1 year removed from a 41 goal season where he also won the Selke. That mix of offense plus a high defensive ability doesn't come along often. - Fosco
I believe Kesler is available before the start of next season because of his NTC,but he will not be cheap. |

I'd take Kesler on my team any day but Habs don't have the trade assets to trade for him. |

Sorry to disappoint you... I only ventured into the Canucktard threads during your first round embarrassment... The whining, ball cupping and self high fives are too much to bear...
Besides, if I want to tool out Canucktards, I just have to go into a Leafs thread... - SofaKingBored

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't trying to crap on Kesler. I love the guy's game and think he's a hugely important and valuable piece of your team. All I'm saying is that when I think "franchise player" all I think of is that 1 (or really in your case two) superstar players per team. I think Lundqvist is the Rangers franchise player, but that's not a slight to guys like Girardi, Gaborik, etc... |

Plek and your first would probably be close. |

That what I figured too .Edm and NYI are building through the draft .They want quality players traded to their team but don't want to give anything back. - VANTEL
Tavares is the only untouchable as far as any Isles fan with a brain is concerned. I will move literally any other piece of our team (incl. picks/prospects) for the right return. I'd have a hard time parting with Hammer too, but he's not out of the question if the price is right. |

that's what I said, they can't afford to lose those 2 assets, not much in the farm in terms of forwards. It would have to be Plek and a 2nd...and Van can get more. |

I think Tavares is there for life and like I said after JT there is not enough talent in the Isle to make an acceptable trade so it is moot. I can't see a lot happening as long as Kim Jong il is the owner. |

It is possible but I think Van will shop him to all 29 other teams and see the best return. |

Overtime loss too.
The goal shouldn't have counted too... Should have been goalie interference. |
