After that game Marchand got suspended for 5 game, Horton got hurt and was out, Ference was then suspended for 3 games, and the whole White House thing. We lost our mojo that had us dominate the league for 2 months in November and December.

I think they'll give him this year to regain his form—he needs to watch footage of his 09/10 season where he had 50 assists, because neither he or Booth seem to know how to pass.

I honestly don't think the Canucks will get equal value for him this year, and unless they got a centre in return, the Canucks would be screwed down the middle, as Schroeder is their only promising C prospect, and I see him as more of a defensively responsible 40-50 point centre at best.

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't trying to crap on Kesler. I love the guy's game and think he's a hugely important and valuable piece of your team. All I'm saying is that when I think "franchise player" all I think of is that 1 (or really in your case two) superstar players per team. I think Lundqvist is the Rangers franchise player, but that's not a slight to guys like Girardi, Gaborik, etc...

If he could consistently put up 40+ goals/70+ points, while playing selke caliber defense, the two qualities combined would make him pretty close to elite. But I guess, in the case of forwards, most people think of point production when they think of an elite player.
