and yet when you guys trashed your city it was a just a few disgruntled fans and a bunch of asian gang members, a few ruin it for the many, the same as just about every (frank)in' fan base in the NHL. Get a (frank)in' grip - Rayven
Agreed. I used to live in beantown and would go back in a heartbeat.

If it was just Bozak...
Otherwise, Toronto isn't trading two top 10 scorers in the league for a back up and a flip flopping diver... - SofaKingBored
Lol! That's rich. You actually believe kessel and lupul will finish anywhere near the top 10 in points again next season? |

Who's the second? Oh right there isn't one. I guess Lupul is a top 10 scorer like Kessel is a 50 goal guy. |

You mean 40 goal guy... he can't get to 40 but is considered a 40 goal scorer by many leafs fans |

They're going to offer us the 5th overall and Gardiner. Not sure if I want that though. Gardiner is so overrated. Maybe if they add 2013 first and 2nd too. |

Doesn't matter anyways, this is where Burke comes out with similar statements he has made in the past:
1) I don't want a player who would demand a trade
2) I don't want a contract that circumvents the cap
3) James Reimer is the real deal
4) I don't like Mike Gillis

The market for Luongo is a Cap dump player (1 or 2 year 4+ million contract) and a Prospect ...and maybe a late round pick.
anything more than that is a waste and an overpayment. |

Maguire discussed it on the radio yesterday saying that there are only a handful of teams who would be interested but no one beating the door down to add that contract to their books, and if they did, you cannot expect more than a mediocre asset at best and probably a salary dump heading back to Vancouver. Perhaps if Luongo's deal wasn't for another decade, you could see it but thats a lot of coin left, a lot of cap hit left for a guy on the other side of his peak. Not to say he isn't a good goalie, because he certainly is, but the realist in me says this is true.
So from a Toronto perspective, it sounds like something to the effect of maybe a 2nd and 5th plus Komisarek (who I am sure has to go in this deal from Toronto's point of view) for Luongo.

Tampa doesn't want him. That would be worse than giving Vinny a ten year deal. |

Can't grasp why Toronto fans wouldn't want Bobby Lu??? He is an elite goaltender, something this town hasn't had since a 40 year old Belfour. ...Leaf fans are content to go with youth between the pipes again??? Crazy!
LUONGO!
Heres a noble idea.........go out and get the best Goalie available
60 Career Shutouts
.919 career save %
2.52 career G.A.A
339 career wins
screw the contract length and $$ he will retire 3 years before his contract expires., Waiting and hoping on Reimer/Scrivens/Owuya......or trading for unknowns like Lindback and Bernier is risky business.......in stead of hoping one of these guys turns out to be as good or better as Luongo, why not go and get the real thing now and end this 7 year playoff drought!! |

"IF" we take him it won't be for much. Perhaps Detroits first, Philly's second, Garon and Ohlund (cap dump). |

It was a closer series. Every game was 1 goal. Impressive for a rookie goalie to beat the defending Stanley Cup Champs.
How'd Buffalo do?

Absolutely one of the dumbest posts I have ever seen here. I really hope the guy was joking.
Montreal gives up Price and the 3rd overall for Lolongo and the 30th overall? |

Or get Vokoun.....maybe make a play for Bernier in LA - bruinsbeer69
Or how about Tim Thomas?
The Bruins may well decide to deal him, he might have another decent year or two and doesn't carry a 10 year contract.
The problem of course is that he probably would command more in a trade. |
