Absolutely one of the dumbest posts I have ever seen here. I really hope the guy was joking.
Montreal gives up Price and the 3rd overall for Lolongo and the 30th overall? - GoneFullRetard What if Montreal added Pacioretty as well?

and yet when you guys trashed your city it was a just a few disgruntled fans and a bunch of asian gang members, a few ruin it for the many, the same as just about every (frank)in' fan base in the NHL. Get a (frank)in' grip - Rayven
You are probably right of course, but just as the Vancouver fanbase took a hit to their image as a whole, so must the Bruins fan base.
It may not be fair, but it's just the way it is. |

Well that is more like it. Montreal would have to throw something else in, maybe not Pacciorety as he is their best forward, but perhaps Tinordi? |

Lol! That's rich. You actually believe kessel and lupul will finish anywhere near the top 10 in points again next season? - hankthetank
You actually think Kesler will return to the form he has displayed for what, 2 years of his career?
You actually think Luongo will return to the form he once had, despite a couple years of evidence to the contrary.

You and I seem to be agreeable lately... makes me nervous.
- Lohaus
Add me to that list also... I would not offer up more than Komisarek and a middling pick or mediocre prospect.
There is NO Guarantee that Luongo retires after 7 years.
What is worse, and what the Canuck idiots here fail to realize is that even 7 years at that cap hit could be devastating.
Luongo could be DONE after like 2 or 3 more years. There is no way he is walking away from the cash though and he will be absolutely untradeable.
So there is every chance that if the Leafs do not win the cup in the next 2-3 years (ROFL!) that they simply bought themselves a long term anchor around the team's neck. |

Wow, that would have been the perfect throw in Too bad they already threw him in to balance out the Gonez deal |

General manager Brian Burke had coined the term "goalie graveyard" during his tenure in Vancouver to describe the club's goaltending fortunes
Seems like the graveyard has followed Burkie to TO. |

Or how about Tim Thomas?
The Bruins may well decide to deal him, he might have another decent year or two and doesn't carry a 10 year contract.
The problem of course is that he probably would command more in a trade. - GoneFullRetard
When Philly almost got him, and Boston said no, the reported price was a 1st, top 6 forward, and a prospect.
I'd consider that at this point.
The guy in Boston that everyone is ripping on today is Lucic. A virtual no-show in this years playoffs. |

Whatever. After the Luongo for Price and a first deal goes down, Burke will go after Price. A third rounder oughtta do it. |

He's loved not necessarily for his skill set, but the style of play which he plays. Unfortunately, that particular style of play does not hold up well in the long term. There would be a point where he can't be that reckless, hit/fight-everything-that moves player that everyone else wanted on their team. |

I don't know...the Canucks' veteran guys were making all of the mistakes you would expect a young rookie like Gardiner to be making. |

They weren't great no. Just making the point that they're NHL vets. Gardiner had a solid rookie campaign but it was 1 year. |

Hmmm, seems that we are still stupid this morning... IF you get Luongo and thats an IF... he will instantly put the laughs in the playoffs... He might even steal a round or 2... Which considering your 40+ years of poop hockey I would consider that worth the risk alone |

There is no doubt that luongo instantly improves the Leafs in this hypothetical scenario, if for only the short term. Its the long term that is the issue. |

There are some players I wouldn't mind giving up some of the future for, but right now, Luongo isn't one of them just like Rick Nash wasn't. |

Its not like they have been contenders for the last 40 years anyway... and I know coming from an Oilers fan there is no room to talk as we were lotto bound 3 in a row... But we FLUKED our way to the finals in 06.... Irregardless short term Luongo may even get them to a cup final -he is an elite goalie and anyone with a brain can figure that one... The short term gains far exceed the long term pains.. when you consider cap and everything it may not even be painful... or You can always burry him in the minors if he is that bad which likely will not be required... |

I don't think you can bury him in th eminors, he has a no movement clause I believe so they can't do anything uless he lets them. |

Irregardless of whether you can or cant bury him in the minors -over the span of his contract the gains he would provide for a team with no goalie far exceed the negative... If he goes to Tampa there goes another playoff spot/opportunity for TO... and the teams that made the playoffs I doubt are going to regress much... |
