Kesler needs shoulder surgery. Rumors in Vancity that Kesler is a locker room problem too.
This move does not add - it subtracts. You solve the center problem by creating a wing problem.
They need six top six in the top six. - Return of the Roar
Rumor this rumor that. Bla bla bla. He is a nasty physical 2 way center that can score. Him and Toews top two. Gladly take my chances with Kane Stalberg Hossa and a free agent or Bickel/Frolik. Kesler is exactly what this team needs. |

So players see it... Why doesn't the GM? |

He is exactly what almost evey team needs...
But you have a better chance of skating in a Hawks uniform next season than Kesler. |

I prefer Kesler. But I would do that too. |

As Al just said - aint happenin'...
For a team to trade for Kesler they are going to have to give up an awful lot - there will be a plethora of teams interested in his services. For their top rival in their own Conference? The Hawks would have to grossly overpay.

When the players voted down realignment, it was a major shot across the owners' bow. New day in the NHLPA.
Don Fehr does not care about the "brand" of the NHL. He cares about getting the players and himself as much money as possible. Period. He has no problem sandbagging an entire season and hurting the image of a game. He did it in baseball. - John Jaeckel
Donald Fehr wasn't brought in to tread lightly. He is almost a worst case scenario. |

I loved how Kane didn't hestitate. 'Net front presence...Brouwer, Kopecky, Buff' - eburgio
I know Kopecky was criticized a lot when he was here, but I do miss him. Kopecky was a valuable bottom 6 forward that could fill many roles - centre, wing, PP, PK. He wasn't a star, but he was a great depth guy, I miss him more than Brouwer. |

But when he isn't flopping around like a freshly caught Lake Michigan perch...Kesler is a force on both sides of the puck. |

That'll be like when John Starks got traded to the Bulls. Did Starks even last 15 games? - HajdukChicago
Don't think he played a single game for the Bulls - they were negotiating a buy-out as soon as the deal was made, IIRC.
What a schmuck. |

The CBA: when is it up? I read September, which doesn't give them much time to get a new one (assuming, like most managment - union negotiations, the meetings don't really start until the old agreement ends).
Is this correct? - StLBravesFan
Unfortunately the off season has to happen before the current CBA ends. Thus waiting for the "new" CBA gives you the same team you have today. They will set a salary cap and have a draft and a free agency period all before the new CBA is ratified. |
