LOL I remember hearing that... Oulette, JM Peltiere, Boucher, Niitimaki, and on and on and on.... - RooNosHockey
Certainly guys can flop. Funny you mention only Flyers...perhaps that's a failure of an organization and not the norm.
I don't doubt that Luongo will be traded. I also don't doubt that Vancouver will get some value in return, probably more than a 2nd rounder. But he's not going to get the Canucks some massive return that will fill all their needs.
Any GM that trades for Luongo is basically placing his job in Luongo's hands. They hold most of the cards, because Luongo can pick and choose his destination. |

I think that most casual fans, myself included, are looking for far more then that. I'm not satisifed with that. And I'm not interested in a moral victory. The Flyers won a playoff series, against the Pens. That it was against a top rival and Crosby makes it sweeter then say beating the Habs in round 1. But It's not like it has been suggested that they won "their" Conference final. I won't see any banners going up from it. - MJL
MJL your twisting it around. No-one is saying if they lose we should be satisified that beating the Penguins was a Conference Final. I was saying that IF the Flyers win the cup and people say they took the easy road because they didnt have to go through Rangers or Boston, we can always say... WE HAD TO BEAT PITTSBURGH, the favorit to win the cup. That series can be looked at as tough as any Conference Final, and there would be no value to anyone's arguement they took the easy road like in 2010. |

ok ok all of that is true, but for example shift 1 game 6 will be a very memorable one indeed and likely will go on highlight reels. - FlyersFirst
Absolutely. It's one of the greatest shifts in Flyers history. And Giroux cemented himself as one of the top players in the League. If not the best right now. |

Quick is an East coast guy, and there's some that feel the main reason Bernier hasn't been moved is that the Kings are worried that a team from the east will grab Quick.
I think that Lehtonen and Smith can be every bit as good as Luongo, and that Howard is a small step behind.
And yes, you could have Luongo...for ten years with a NMC. Luongo the guy who was pulled for his back up when the season was on the line in each of the last two seasons in the first round. For whatever faults Smith, Lehtonen and Howard have, I didn't see their coaches start the backups in must win games. - Jsaquella
He let in 8 goals in 7 games in the finals last year. And his regualr season number are pretty consistant. His contact, and playoff failings, and age are not that far off from Bryz... So I dont see where your going with this... |

I would think that Van will have to take some salary back if they do trade Luongo and if they do then that will limit the value of return, I would think.

I'm not twisting anything. You called it a Conference Final, not me. It was a first round series win. That's all. Who's to say that this upcoming Series won't be a tougher one for the Flyers. Like was said, you have to win 16 games to get the Cup. The Flyers don't get to choose their opponents. And if they do win the Cup, who give's a rats ass what people would say. And if they would say it, I would laugh and ignore it, and treat it like the idiotic statement that it is. There is no value to anyone's argument that said it 2010 either. |

I wouldn't be surprised if Luongo is traded to the Islanders but I think he will probably end up in Tampa. |

I dont think Vancouver has too many needs to fill. I think they will get a roster player and a high draft pick for him. Roster player isnt a Star, maybe a decent young guy that hasnt panned out yet and a first. |

Have you ever heard of a metaphore? How about a simile? Do you take everything literally?
Let me give you a hint. If someone is using words such as "Like" or "as" they are just making a comparision. If someone says "could be considered" They are not saying it will become.... |
