The Flyers did resign him after winning that game 7. - MJL
exactly... and what happened.... Just goes to show... 1 game 7 win, does not make a guy a starter for life. |

I understand what you're saying but everyone has a preference. I think the Panthers and Devils are 2 boring teams, which in return would make a boring series. I'm just asking who you guys would like to face. It's funny though because the more exciting teams to watch are out. Pens, Wings, Sharks, Bruins, Canucks, all gone. - roenick97
If the Flyers win, it's exciting to me. Sure, there's a little added omph when they beat a Pittsburgh or New York, but I'm content if they win. |

Kind of like what happened to Bob here... But it didn't stop the Flyers... - RooNosHockey
Just a little different. Bob didn't backstop his team to a victory over the defending Cup champs. |

Leighton was 29 and pretty much a career backup at the time.
Holtby's 23 and has been seen as their goalie of the future for awhile.
Huge difference. |

FLA has markstrom so I doubt that one - isaiah520
Markstrom hasn't proven it in the NHL yet. I don't think Florida is in a position to hand over the keys to a rookie goaltender. |

I don't care if it's boring hockey and they make it to the Cup Finals. I will start drinking coffee at night to stay up. I would like them to win the Cup, thats there goal and my goal as a Flyers fan. I want to experience the same thing I expereienced in 2008 with the Phillies. |

Right. Not sure I'd do that were I them. I also think they need a new coach. - Scoob
I was talking to Jasq on twitter about that lastnight, im not sure if Hunter is actually a bad coach or if the team given to him is actually the most overrated team in hockey. |

What did Tomas Vokoun get the Panthers? They put him on the market at the TDL in 2011. How about Tim Thomas? The Bruins tried to trade him before last season, as it seemed that Rask had taken the job over. What did Tampa Bay trade for Roloson?
I'd be stunned if the Canucks got a major return for Luongo, because of the perception that he's not a money goalie, his age and the terms of his contract. Toss in the NMC, which would eliminate some teams that could really use him, and the money situation in places like Tampa and NJ, and factor in the possibility of Thomas being on the market and that all hurts Luongo's value. - Jsaquella
Vokoun was pending UFA, Thomas was hurt the year before, has a higher cap hit and was what 39.... long way from 33. and your compairing Roloson (40) to Luongo?
And No Thomas on the market will not hurt Luongo's value... he is 40? 41? He is a 1 year fix, thats about it. |

It's hard right now to judge. Hunter had the team working their asses off against the Bruins, but they sort of backed in. Had the Bruins beat the Caps in 5, who knows what happens to Hunter and the roster? |

Many want the easy path to the final but I personally want the most exciting. I want to be entertained as we move forward. In my mind the team to beat of the remaining are the Philadelphia Flyers. Would I like the avoid teams like the Boston Bruins and New York Rangers? of course. Do I care who we face? Of course not. I have a full vote of confidence in this team.
With this said, which Scenario does everyone want the most? - roenick97
I really think the Rangers win tonight so we'll play the winner of NJ/Florida and I would really like to open on the road -- I like it better that way for this team. That being said, and my luck, Rangers will lose and we'll open up at home against Ottawa |

Holtby's looked pretty good but I'm not ready to crown him with anything yet. Brian Boucher comes to mind. Have to see a goalie play a full season or two first. |

It appears as though Hunter is trying to transform the team to a different style of play and he might not have the "right" players to do it. So right now he's trying to make it work with what he has...
By reducing Ovie's minutes he's keeping him fresh and establishing a better team game. |

Lindback was awful this year, and I doubt that the Sabres move Enroth right now...and after signing Bryzgalov, if they could have got what Colorado paid for Varlamov, Bob would have been out the door faster than you can say Jack Robinson. - Jsaquella
Was Bryz signed by the time Varlamov was dealt? |

You do realize that most GMs are terrified at long term deals for goalies, right?
Thomas being a shorter term fix is probably more attractive to a guy like Yzerman or Tallon, especially when they have top prospects in their system who can come in and caddy for a guy like Thomas for a year or two and then take over. |

Not officially, however, terms were agreed to long before the signing became official. |

I think the further they go, the better hunter looks... I really think this roster will get overhauled regardless of how far they make it this year. Watching them play lastnight they looked nothing like the offensive Juggernaut of 2 years ago and more like a lemare coached devils team.
I could be wrong here but when your coaching a team that is not considered very good, you prop up your defense and just take advantage of your opponents mistakes, which is exactly what Hunter is doing. |

I just the Caps playing a better team defense. Holtby has been shaky at times and given up some huge rebounds. The Bruins were unable to cash in...
the team that continues to make the mistakes will lose |

True, but do you commit to a 8 or 9 year deal for Luongo when you have a kid like that sitting there? Not me. A guy like Thomas or Vokoun makes a lot more sense to split time with Holtby.
If the kid pans out, you let the short term vet walk. If he doesn't you look at going hard after an established vet then. |

And reducing the defensive liability. The hunker down and hope for the best strategy doesn't work well with a guy like AO on the ice. |
