It's in Newark. Newark is hood but with a playoff game, the arena and the surrounding buildings there's plenty of people and police presence. Just don't try and hang out there after everyone's gone. - Pixote Andolini
That's the only reason they might just prefer to make the trip to Philly is they like to party afterwards. They might want to check out Xfinity Live. |

With the way things are now I wouldnt rush Meszaros back especially after his surgery.
When he's good to go I think it has to be Guss. |

Have to say Lilja isn't doing too shabby.
He's trying to contribute in the offensive zone as well. - flyer_nutter
It was Interesting that after 2 periods he had the second most ice time for the Flyers behind Coburn.

It's not a bad part of Newark. If you stray a few blocks, that's a different story, but your typical train commute and the route to walk to the game, or parking to the game is convenient. The streets you park on are well-lit, if they aren't filled with patrol cars to begin with. - _Zippy_
Yeah it's not that bad. I've been to some of the really crazy bad parts of Newark. Newark ain't got frank on Camden though. |

Ya know, I've noticed this as well.. I expect that when the playoffs are done, we'll find out that Kubina has a serious injury and tried to gut it out. I was very happy with our D composition today. |

And Coburn at the end played the most minutes by far, 22:45. Next closest Flyer was Matt Carle at 18:01.
Now THAT is what I call rolling 4 lines. - MBFlyerfan
Yeah I believe Coburn led all Flyers skates in TOI in the 1st round. |

That should have said even strength ice time. The Flyers rolled 4 lines all game.

There's like four or five local bars that people go to. The arena has brought up the area and made it a lot safer, like most expected it to. |

Does Brodeur even have a right to tell the media that jvr lifted his stick after he was pounding in jvrs head earlier in the game..

I'm only in HS, but I played football in Newark, it was the hood like where you hop out one window and your in your neighbors, the doors and windows were all barrred up like a prison, it was BAD, however, that was a ways away from the arena. If you take 21 in, the arena is not far at all once you get into Newark. |

I'm not even thinking about Meszaros. I feel like every playoff game Gustafsson plays in he learns and adapts tremendously. Kid has wheels and some nice vision. Drew a penalty in the game and I'm not sure if he was credited with an assist on the JvR tally. |

That's what I was saying earlier, there was a reason Brodeur's five-hole was open. It was a sneaky move, and yeah, he does have a right. That cost his team the game. |

Funny, Hedberg has had much better success then Brodeur against the Flyers the last couple of years. |

JVR has every right to that space. I would have said the same thing if the opposite had occurred.

I wonder then if the Devils will get an apology like the Pens did. |

on the game winning goal? I didn't see JvR lift Marty's stick at all.
There might have been a LITTLE interference, but JvR was clearly outside the blue paint. |

Ill tell you one thing, JVR looks like he did last year in the playoffs. Lets trade him while his value is high! |

Nah that wasn't interference. It's a tough hockey play that a goalie has to deal with. If Brodeur is inside the paint and JvR is all over him than yes I would be calling for an interference call. - Pixote Andolini
Here's one thing that is misunderstood about Goalie interference. If you read the rule, the Goalie being in the paint, has little to do with it.

He is impressing me.
This team is obviously carried by the forwards but the D core isn't playing too shabby.
It's good for them to play the Devils now imo. If they do end up winning, which is by no means a sure thing they will have to play 2 more "defensive" teams to win the cup. Might as well learn now. |
