I saw the quotes. Of course he did. What would you expect him to say? This is a 7 game series. It's gamesmanship. Campaigning to the get the next call his way. Same reason Coaches say things. - MJL
i would expect him to be a man and admit a good goal was scored against him. you don't think when he said they're not gonna disallow 2 goals in philly isn't incindiery?
I'm loving how over powering our Power Play is. The Devils I believe had the first best PP and the Pens the 3rd best of the regular season. Sure doesn't look that way in the playoffs, which is very encouraging.
If JvR, Hartnell and Simmonds keep going to the net like they have to clock the goalie's vision, teams like New Jersey and New York don't stand a chance. - roenick97
Do you see how good Voracek is playing on the point?
Have to get the puck to the net against NY to matter who is at the net against them.
I thought I would see alittle more of a physical game from both teams but it was calm. - stveshdy
I'm a bit surprised from the Devils end....Flyers been off for a week and had obvious rust issues at start. I'm guessing that Volchenkov and Kovalchuk are running at about 70%...they were very obviously struggling.

It's pretty clear what it's about. And you read 3 people post to you what's going on there. It's a pretty basic element of competition that's been going on for a long time. Admitting it was a good goal is the last thing I'd expect him to say.

It's all to get the calls later. It truly is. Bryzgalov would do the same thing. I highly doubt a goalie would want to suck up his pride and say someone beat him clean, especially Marty.

Brodeur in my mind might of played one of his best games in this series. He was fantastic today making some huge saves to keep them in the game. I just think the Flyers are only going to get better as this series goes on and thats going to be trouble for the Devils.

Yup, it sucks. Kovalchuk was still producing, but TG said something about a lower back issue, and he was coming out of the trainer's room after the game, obviously nursing something and not 100 percent. Did you guys hear that Fleischmann was playing with a broken hand in the Devils series.

Did you see the one save right before JVR's goal. I'm pretty sure he stuck his leg up in the air while on his back to make the initial save.

Brodeur played well today, except on the JvR goal.
Bryzgalov has to be better today, I'm hoping that his struggles in the 2nd and third were rust related.

Yeah, heard about Fleischmann. This time of year, if a guy is out, he's got doctors blocking the tunnel.
Brodeur knows what interference is. If he felt he was interfered with, he would have vigorously complained - MJL
Kinda my thoughts as well. He didn't complain at all after the play. I think he's just trying to work the refs to try to get a call next game. Media gamesmanship more than anything else. It was a good goal. He knows it. He's just looking for any edge he can get for the next game.

Ridiculous. Started to get flashbacks of the Mid 90's. My brother texted me "Twenty years pasts and this guy still plays amazing against the Flyers in the playoffs".
Hard to argue with some of the saves he made today.

I agree. Bryzgalov has to be better than he was today. He did a solid job in the first period but then struggled. That last goal has to be stopped, noway can you give that goal up. Even with the mistakes made by the team the goalie needs to make that save and bail out his teammates.

If JvR didn't score, that was a highlight reel save. Didn't see the goal, but saw some fans on here mentioning Voracek bumping Brodeur and I was wondering why the (frank) he was on the ground on the initial save.
With the exception of the Sykora goal, I thought Bryzgalov was good today. - MJL
He was fantastic in the first period. He was playing hot potato a lot when he tried to play the puck, and the 2nd goal was a result of that, at least to some extent.
Both teams are going to want to protect the puck a lot better than they did today.

obviously it's brodeur's aim to influence future calls in this series. i just hate it because he's a legend and his word carries more weight than most players' word would. and he absolutely has no leg to stand on. it's clear as day that the correct call was made. i just would hate for the devils to benefit from a flyers' disallowed goal and then score on the ensuing pp. i think he should be fined for complaining about officiating. i know the league can do that, but they don't when it comes to star players, which brodeur clearly is.

Brodeur in my opinion was embellishing there to try and draw a call. Because he knew he was toast with the bad decision to go up the middle.
