Other then the one play where he turned the puck over leading to a goal, Brodeur played well on Sunday. Brodeur may no longer be a Vezina caliber Goalie but he is still clearly good enough to make the Devils a tough out. The Devils also aren't weak on defense. They play a solid team game.

It was one game. The Devils finished one point behind the Flyers in the regular Season. You don't make the playoffs with six weak defenseman. The Devils don't have to shut down the Flyers for four games. They just have to win 4 games. Every statement you make, makes zero sense, and is disputed by simple facts.

Marty is finished. He is no longer able to steal games, and certainly cannot win an entire series for this Devils team. He is still better than half the goalies in the league at times, but in the end, the Devils do not stand a chance. After 1 period of rust wore off the Flyers, the 35-11 shot total and onslaught should have said enough. Marty is not a magician. He relies heavily on celebrex and motrin, as well as a little defensive help.
