i couldn't care less who it is, i just want them to get there. the 'yotes are on fire right now, and smith is playing equal to quick -in fact, i'd say he's been better just because he's seeing more rubber, and i'd probably pick them over LA to get to the final

The intermission and postgame highlighted Ovechkin taking his reduced ice time well. For a guy who's seemed a bit of a prima donna in seasons past, that speaks well to him as a captain.

That's not something Ovechkin can change right now, though. The coach is opting to play a tight defensive game, and that involves using Ovechkin less. As a captain, the most he can do in that situation is be involved in the game.

The Kings have better players than the Yotes, but then again so do the Hawks, and Preds. Smith has been the best goalie in the NHL since the all-star break.

The late call on Richards for interference pissed him off. He was mouthing off at the refs at the time. I'm sure Brooks or one of the other idiot NY writers will be able to goad him into a tirade about it.

Yotes are VERY underrated imo. For example, Radim Vrbata scored perhaps the quietest 35 goals in NHL history this season. They do have some talent, and they are playing a great team game right now. And Smith is out of his mind. They will be tough to beat.

At this point, they look like only team that could beat the Kings in the west.

It was a good call. Richards interfered with Carlson at the blue line. And when I say interfered, I mean reached out with his free hand and pulled him to the ice. Pretty obv call imo, but Torts had his usual incredulous look on his face and was yapping at the refs big time after Ovi scored on the ensuing PP.
