Do you seriously think Gilles wouldn't accept a Gomez for Luongo deal? If I'm Gilles, I make that trade and buy out Gomez. He only has two years remaining.
Ian's possible trades are as unrealistic as they get. - RedwingsAreKHL
Every GMs dream player 7 mil /2 goals.
I hope you realize it would cost 11 mil to buyout Gomez. |

So Luongo's contract makes him worthless, but somehow Montreal will replace Price with him? That doesn't make any sense. Ergo, it sounds like you are trying to get a rise out of Canucks fans. |

Ya you have the speed, puck handling and distribution of Schroeder mixed with the physicality and playmaking ability of Kassian and the skill, size and speed of Jensen. That'd kind of mask Schroeder's size disadvantage. - Boinker
A 3rd line of Jensen/Schroeder/Hansen would be interesting, as well, although I hear Jensen needs a bit of work on his defence.
I have a hard time seeing Kassian, Schroeder, and Jensen all making the team next season, but it's promising for the future. Schroeder and Jensen both had good camps last year, so it's possible, as long as they improve.
edit: it sucks that Jensen would have to go back to the OHL if he doesn't make the team. He looks ready for the AHL. |

If that's the only offer Gilles gets, you wouldn't do it and just buy the loser out?
Damn, I just realized I've been misspelling Gillis' name the whole time! |

Luongo's contract is worthless to the Canucks because they already have a better goalie with a lower cap hit (Schneider). Luongo's French and probably a better goalie than Price. Plus, it seems like Montreal has a lot of issues with Price. Keep in mind that we're talking about the Habs. Like I said previously, I could see the Habs acquiring Luongo and dealing Price to the Hawks for Sharp or Kane. |

This mentality is friggin amusing. The Canucks have been at the top of the league for the last couple of years because of mostly Lu. This year maybe his best year in the last 3 and you and others think he is so bad that Canucks would buy a 7 million dollar forward that has scored 2 goals and fire him by paying 11 million.
Hockey for Dummies available at Coles .I suggest you go buy one .

Why would they want Sharp or Kane?? They need to get bigger, not smaller, that to me is the most unrealistic part of your statement. Price isn't getting dealt, if they were willing to deal Halak to St. Louis and keep Price two years ago, they aren't going to trade Price especially for more of the same forwards they already have. |

Yeah, but we're talking about the Habs. No matter how much they need size and grit, they consistently go for small finesse players. That's just their MO. Maybe the new GM will understand what they really need, but who knows... I don't think Price is an elite goalie, do you? |

So Luongo is better than Price and Price is worth Sharp or Kane, but Lu has negative worth in trade, to the buyout cost of Gomez? Dude, you're even way more out there than usual.
Besides, with the buyout cost of Gomez, Schneider would end up costing more than Luongo. If Gomez was the only offer, I'd keep Lu and trade Schneider. But this is a stupid debate to begin with. |

All due respect, please remove your head from your a$$. Gomez make $7 and scored 2 goals, i dont care if he only had 1 year left on his contract, comparing his situations to Lu is beyond assinine. Man, if youre gonna troll, be better than that, I know you have it in you! |

So... how about them Seattle Seahawks... contenders for the Super Bowl? No? - DariusKnight
I'm not a big fan of the Seahawks, but I'm debating putting some money on this year as a long shot bet to win the super bowl.
Very underrated, solid D. They have a good O-line and running game. The big question marks are at the QB / WR positions, but I think they have a chance if Flynn is solid and Rice stays healthy. |

As most Canuck fans know I am not a Lu fan .I will give credit where credit is due. Everyone rags on Lu about being a basket case.
Ten months ago Lu battled against goalies such as Crawford ,Rinne ,Niemi, and Thomas. Out of all of those elite Goalies there was only one that bettered him .Tim Thomas.
Two years ago there was a thing called the Olympics and the champs were a team called Canada. The goalie that Canada had chosen as their best was a guy named Luongo.
When Luongo first arrived in Vancouver he took a rather bad team and led them to the playoffs.
I see mostly fans in here from two teams Toronto and Edmonton. One team has finished 29 ,30, 30 th in the last three years and the other has not been in the playoffs in 9 years. The fact that both cities are in here screaming rip off, for a trade that has yet to be determined, about a top 15 goaltender ,at a cap hit of 5.3 mil explains lots. I think mercifully he will end up on neither team ,and be subjuected to the hockey hell for the next six years.
I think a smarter more educated team like Detroit may step up and understand that they are dealing with a 6 year contract for a pretty good goalie with a decent cap hit..SJ is another team that may jump in and have a decent offer to come back.TB and CBJ are definte possibilities also.
To the rest enjoy missing the playoffs AGAIN |

I see them honestly as a dark horse, QB/WR are nice but I look at Baltimore when they won the Super Bowl with TRENT DILFER of all people as QB as why you don't absolutely NEED a Pro-Bowl calibre QB. |

Agreed. I also think people are really sleeping on the Seahawks D, they are very young and were top 10 in the league last year. If the 49ers come back to earth this year (which is entirely possible), the Hawks could easily take the division. |

Misery loves company.
Here is another interesting nugget.I have seen lots of posts saying teams are going to go after Harding or Bernier.
I figure with the bidding wars in free agency, there will be 6 or so teams licking their chops, hoping to get one of the two. The bidding will start probably be in the 2.5 to 3 mil range for 3 years.
Harding GP 117 with 41 wins on a trap team like the Wild.
Bernier GP 48 with 20 wins
Lets just call this Monster Wars version 2.0 |
