Your assuming hes goin to retire and give up the money at 39?
Thats one of your arguments?? ... Really? - hugefemale dog77
It's a legitimate argument, Lu will have been paid 90% of his salary by then. It is circumstantial but very realistic |

Just curious, do u know how long luongo's term is?
U keep harping over and over that the dollar amount isnt bad, but convienently leave out the ten years.
U understand thats the issue right? Or no?
Berniers 23. - hugefemale dog77
Thats kind of the whole point.... I have no problem banging a really hot chick for a couple years, but if you tell me I have to commit to buying her a lot sh!t for 6 years, give her my car and by year 4 or 5 she might stop putting out, I might not be so willing to jump at the oppoutunity. |

Thats the problem??? Oh i see!!
Im really not sure that canuck fans were aware why lu's value is so low.
Maybe if u explain over 5 million cap hit for ten more years for a 33 year old that the team doesnt really want anymore is not a very desirable asset. - hugefemale dog77
Most aren't...which is why we've been going around in circles for an hr. |

Never said I don't like Luongo's cap hit...it's the term that makes it hard to stomach
And yes...If you're asking if I'd rather sign Lindback or Bernier to a 3yr deal for as much as Luongo makes vs. his term...I'd take Lindback or Bernier. - Pen15
Then you are going to get much less of a goalie IMO. |

Bernier has 14 wins .
OPen your ears Luongo is 33 he will play until 39 .That is a 6 year contract 5.3 cap hit for a goalie who has played his best year in the last 3 years. - VANTEL
You know this for sure?? |

I'm gonna laugh my ass off when MG pulls the ultimate Keizer Sose and trades Scheids for a kings ransom. |

Bryzalov: 6 mil cap hit for 8 more years, THAT is the kind of money/term you are looking at, THAT is an untradeable contract, the deal isn't front-loaded like Luongo's and Bryzgalov doesn't have the resume/stats/pedigree of Luongo. You really think paying close to that for 3-4 years which would make the cap hit that much worse on someone who isn't even a starter like Bernier or Lindback worth it? |

Really? So if she's got a rich father who's giving you an entry-level executive position in his Fortune 500 company (the playoffs) and in the near future when he retires, the keys to the company because you're going to marry his daughter (and to push the metaphor I'm talking about the Stanley Cup) you wouldn't jump at it? |

Why don't you leave .Enjoy Bernier and his 4 year 16 mil contract and his 14 career wins.He will make Monster look like Johnny Bower . |

Indeed. Both are extremely unproven. One is a giant, and the other is undersized. I'm more bullish on Bernier though. |

No, they'll likely get more, because they're the few quality starters out there and they will be looking for term and dollars and they want to get paid. |

Sorry.... Another guy posted this the other day and I kind of thought it was pretty true
Before the Hodgson trade
Vancouver fan #1- Hodgson is great
Vancouver fan 2- Next Trevor Linden- I heard a lot of comparisons
Vancouver fan 3- 70-80 point center
Now after you guys were eliminated
Van fan 1- Cancer
Van fan 2- Faked injuries
Van fan 3- Horrible money grubbing father- Locker room distraction, wont be a top 6 player.
It all sounded like sour grapes.... especially from Gillis, sounded like he was making excuses trying to sound like his hand was forced. Probably because it didnt look good to have Kassian a healthy scratch. Thought it was petty by AV and Gillis. |

I'm kind of leaning toward Lindback personally...but mainly from a Leafs perspective.
I think he'd fit in very well with Allaire's style in Toronto. |

I like Hodgson and think he is going to be a star some day when he gets traded to the Leafs. He had 41 points this year on the Canucks .Lets see how he does on his new less talented team. |
