YES!!!! - burn
Apparently he's a bit of a headcase ...but he's got all the qualities BB is looking to add ...and the price tag will never be lower.
If there's any truth to the rumor that Ott might be available he should check the price tag on him too. |

Hopefully, I'm sure it wont be all roses though, and as soon as a slump hits they will be brought up.
Stewarts going to be a Leaf, I'd still do Kulemin for Stewart in a heartbeat. - Leafland

ROLL 4 LINES.....? - JIMI-JAMES
Once upon a time, teams would roll only 3 lines. Think it's time to go back to that. Find 9 guys that are in shape to play 25, 20 and 15 minutes a night on a regular basis. Obviously, due to the NHLPA teams have to carry 3 extra players but given our problems on defense, the Leafs would be better off carrying 7 defenders on a regular basis and only 2 fourth liners. One tough guy who can still play the game and one shootout specialist or energy player like Brown, depending on the situation.

That's easy to say right now, but he is benched for a reason. 15 goals and 15 assists in 80 games with the 2nd placed team in the league doesn't sound much better than conolly's 36 points in 70 games. - Timeforsoup

Lupuls going to ask for a trade. He wants nothing to do with Carlyle. - Leafland
Only if things go badly next year. I think, for now, they're alright with each other.
Judging by Lupul's character, he was probably the type that had enough talent to be in the NHL and didn't take it seriously. Carlyle didn't like that so he was hard on him. In his youth, it created friction. But now, Lupul seems to have matured into a more serious player.
If the team hits the tank again and Lupul is dragging his feet, then yes, a trade request, much like Versteeg did with Napoleon, is in order. But until then, they appear to be fine with each other. |

Toronto's firts need is a proven goaltender. If that's Luongo or someone else, I guess we'll see. Also, (since Sundin left) Toronto hasn't had a true # 1 center. With the situation in Vancouver, this could be the harder piece to get as teams obviously keep their #1's unless they are rebuilding. A guy like Getzlaf comes to mind and IMO, that's who Burke should target rather than Nash. I obviously dont know if he's available, but its worth a try. As for the bottom six, Toronto needs to add some size and toughness. I'm sick of Toronto going into Ottawa and Neil fighting Luke Schenn and going into Boston's building and being run out of town. Although the guys I'm going to mention have been in the press in a negative way lately, guys like Asham and Torres are 2 guys Burke should go after. Asham is going to be an Ufa and would add some desparate toughness to the roster. I'm a little scared that Burke will sign Parros out of Anaheim since hes a former Burke player. I haven't seen a whole of him over the past couple of years with him being in Anaheim, but it got Orr writen all over it. At least guys like Asham and Torres can play. That's the kind of toughness you need nowadays. |

If Hitchrichard doesn't want him on the ice then neither do I.
I want players who would want to play with the intensity, discipline and attention to detail that you see on a Hitchrichard-coached team. - GoneFullRetard
That's an issue for sure ....he's young though so maybe he's worth fixing. Wayne Simmonds had the same rap ....and he's turned it around. |

Yeah I agree. Everyone starts the year on the same page, as the year goes on stuff could happen, and I'm sure it would be easier to spark something between them then between the other players. Hopefully they keep it professional. |

1) Do you understand that getzlaf and perry will be resigned since the ducks have a sh!t load of money??
2) Asham is a female dog, torres is a female dog, id go for parros if anything.
3) Parise most likely going to minnesota
4) Nash is our only good option... or thorton if hes available |

If the Blues were to offer Connolly for Stewart, the Leafs would be idiots to pass on that.
Stewart got a rough ride this year because Hitchcock implemented a system he isn't suited for. In short, he didn't buy in right away. Hitchcock wasn't going to screw around and wait for him to be a team player so he cut back his minutes and benched him.
Fact is however, Stewart is the power forward type and much like Kulemin had a disappointing year this year, he's going to bounce back eventually. I'd buy low on him in an instant. |

Why? We don't have any good ones. Too many people believe poopty 2nd line players make good 3rd line players ....not true. The only guy that might fit the mold is Frattin. Someone like Ott would be huge for them. |

I'm pretty sure Lupul was in the same circle as Richards and Carter back in his Flyer days so you can kind of figure out what type of guy he once was and maybe still is. |

Nash and Thornton are both not good options even if they are available. Both will cost too much and neither one helps us rebuild properly.
Parros, if not resigned, is DEFINITELY Toronto bound. Absolutely no doubt that he's on Burke and Carlyle's radar as soon as July 1st opens up. |
