So now that the goalie didn't steal the game, we are left with non competitive dogpoop against Greene, Fayne, Gionta, Carter, and the rest of these (frank)ing stiffs.
Cool third period. - PLindbergh31
There isn't a single player on the Devils that is a stiff. They are a good team, that just outworked and out played the Flyers.

They have to realize they have to work hard in playoff games? Second no show game in 8 playoff games. - PLindbergh31
They were outworked bottom line. They need to play with their backs against the wall. Its a series now and you have to play solid hockey or the season wont be much longer. Its one game though. Have to get it done on the road now. |

Marty sounds like such an idiot when he talks.
This should be a nice head check for the team. |

I don't think they can even match the Flyers if they actually play. |

If the Flyers play the way they did tonight they couldnt beat a high school team. |

The Panthers who were the worst playoff team since the lockout with a -24 goal differential didn't play one game like this in an entire 7 game series against this team.
Devils missing their best player, they have a suspect defense at best with not one legit bigtime d-man, and a 40 year old goaltender. This is an absolute cluster(frank).
A 1-0 third period lead turns into a 4-1 deficit, is (frank)ing inexcusable. - PLindbergh31
The Devils defense isn't suspect. They're a better defensive team then the Flyers are. I really don't know why many are underrating the Devils as a team.

I really thought the turning point of this game was the penalty on JVR. They were pressing hard and somehow only JVR gets a penalty.
It's not on the refs obviously, but I thought the call changed the flow of the game. |

I saw effort from the D in general, esp Coburn. I would say Simmer tried and JVR was good initially before he caught the bug. Read had his usual Carter like game: Goal, otherwise invisible.
I saw Briere grinning in the box after his penalty in our zone. Like I said, too big for themselves. Got thrashed by an average team. |

My God people its one game. The Devils may have played their best game of the playoffs tonight, and the Flyers probably played their worst.
Its one game to one. Still a long way to go.

Good job Bryz, Coburn, and Im sure Im missing 1 or 2 others.
That was bad. They played like they were up 3 games to 0. I expect them to respond effectively Thursday. |

God, I hope it's just the youth of the team.
I also wish I could find ONE guy who came to play ... other than Bryz.

This "average team" put up 102 points in the best division in hockey.
