There are losses and there are losses. After being 3-0 up to Pens, they were due a clunker and Bryz could not stop anything. Last year they were outplayed by a much better team.

as of right now, i don't plan on getting too worked up. i reserve the right to change that as the dvr continues to roll.
I have to wonder if a coaching change is in order, he really got me thinking about that. If Lavy did lose the team they need to make the change right now, while there is still a sliver of hope left. - MBFlyerfan

Ah!
The Bruins were a horrible match up for them.
I had a feeling when they scored to win that series that there would be big trouble. - MrBuzzcut
All it takes to win in the playoffs is confidence, team work, and good goaltending. Just look at the Kings and the Yotes, both teams are oozing with confidence.
I liken most of the reaction here tonight to killing a gnat with a sledgehammer. - MBFlyerfan
Obviously you haven't experienced the northeast pa phenomena of gnats in the springtime. Killing one gnat with a sledgehammer would take great skill and agility. Clearly much more than we witnessed for the last 40 minutes of this game.

That was the game. Every time the puck was up for grabs tonight, I saw 2-3 Devils supporting the puck to one Flyer. That's Hockey.

Who do you think should be benched for the next game?

Giroux for sure. Need to send a message. In fact the whole first line needs to be sat down. They obviously have decided not to listen to the coach any more. I didn't see it until it was posed earlier.

overall, i liked what i saw in the first period. good skating, a lot of buzz around the net, a crossbar from danny, good support around their own net and great goaltending from bryz.

Do yourself a favor, stop watching now. The Flyers go 19 minutes in the 2nd without a shot on goal.

Little wager with you. Thats going to change.
People here are saying Devils are good team etc. Its not even the loss or the margin. Its the way they lost. Repeated icings (a sure sign of laziness when trying for the stretch pass), repeated board battles lost, no shots for first 18 mins in the 2nd period, no hits by any of Roo, Simmer, Hartnell; 1 shot in a total of 5 man advantages (and 1 on 4 on 4)...all this is really a lot on us. I would go as far as to say its largely on us.
They really did go to sleep after that goal. If I'm lavvy I might make them all stay after hours tonight to watch that game. As a professional I don't know how you watch that and not be embarassed with one's self. That being said I'm feeling like i did after game 4 of the last series: piss poor effort, ass handed to back to them. Comeback and play NHL hockey now. - JoeRussomanno
Exactly. I see this as a point of emphasis for Lavi to reel them in and remember who they are and how they need to play to win. It's a young team w/ highs and lows. They stunk up the joint tonight, but we all know that when motivated, they are a machine. See game 6 vs. Pens and last 2 periods + OT in game 1.
While I'm very disappointed in effort tonight, I'm confident in Lavi + leadership of this team to turn around quickly and put up a 5 spot on Thurs. Watch!!!
