I don't care if he costs 4million in cap space.
The habs are in a "rebuilding" mode, and there is no top flight UFA they could sign that having Gomez on the cap would prevent.

Why buyout now?
Wait for CBA to see if their are any cap amnesty buy outs first, then decide what to do. If you want the cap space for July 1st or trade, etc... send the contract down in the interim. |

I'd say they are probably look at a way to rid themselves of Kaberle and Bourque as well... we'll see. |
