I doubt there will be an amnesty...the NHLPA would fight that big time. Why should the NHLPA fix the owners mistakes? Even if there is, it will likely be grandfathered.

Why would they fight it? If anything it benefits the player. Take a guy like Redden he gets all his money for the duration of his contract, and then he is back in the league playing on a new contract.
