First paragraph :
"La fumée blanche peut apparaître au-dessus du Centre Bell puisque Geoff Molson et Serge Savard ont terminé leur réflexion. Ils ont trouvé leur homme, un Montréalais de surcroît, dans la cour des Blackhawks de Chicago. Marc Bergevin aura maintenant toute une commande sur les bras, celle de sortir le Canadien de la dèche."
Speaking about some white smoke over Bell Centre (wtf?) and making a reference to male semen is enough for me to stop reading. - Dgrdnr
I'm surprised he hasn't ripped Bergevin for not speaking perfect French. |

More scouts in the Q, a french canadian player before an anglo, when both have the same talent level. Keeping Timmins. |

Nice one of QP's heros and where he gets his wealth/lack of knowledge from. Is this the same guy Asp said was decent a few pages back? - ShootingSemin
I hate Bertrand Raymond, François Gagnon, Michel Langevin, Stéphane Langdeau and Réjean Tremblay with a passion.
Less Gagnon, as sometimes he says something interesting, but the rest are just there to bash the habs daily. |

He never said anything like that. It's just the media (and you) putting these words in his mouth. I am glad however that they're finally getting more scouts in the Q. |

Problem with this is that there is no such thing as two players with the "same talent". Individual players have specific, individual skillsets and abilities. There's a reason for draft ranks.
It aint like they're gonna check out all the quebec kids and compare them to all the anglo kids in order to find wich ones have similar talents... They'll just pick the best player available. Wich is why its important to have scouts in the Q, so the good Quebec players dont fly under our nose. |

They do but they will increase their scouting of the Q. They gave Giroux as an example. |

How often does that happen though, that an Anglo and Franco of exact same talent level would be available at the same time.
It's all Politicing to appease the QP's of the world. |

talent is subjective for a kid in juniors, unless you have scouts who push a player, it's easy to overlook someone. I don't want them to only draft Quebec players, most just want, when possible, to grab the good ones. |

Remember when they drafted those french kids and brought them up through the system together. that was great times and it worked out well for all of them.
Now what were their names... All i can remember is them being called 3 Amigos. |

Timmins travels around NA to scout player AND he does players development. All Bergevin said was that the Habs will have more scouts in Quebec.
I fully expect them to hire Stephane Leroux as a new scout for the Q. |

Maybe the culture and how they are brought up are more important and should be evaluated first, rather then just throwing more Francos into the fire to have their heads explode. |

One of the Habs weakness is still players development, they let those kids without much mentoring in MTL at 19-20yrs old and wonder why they go crazy. Just look at those 3, Higgins, SK/AK and the list goes on.
That's one part of Timmins job where he needs to do A LOT more or give that task to someone else. |

it's also a question of leadership by the veterans. Some of those leaders could take home some of those kids as they come up for a year or two. |

Once all of the ballots have been opened, the final post-scrutiny phase begins. The Scrutineers add up all of the votes, and the Revisers check the ballots and the names on the Scrutineers' lists to ensure that no error was made. The ballots are then all burnt by the Scrutineers with the assistance of the Secretary of the College and the Masters of Ceremonies. If the first scrutiny held in any given morning or afternoon does not result in an election, the cardinals proceed to the next scrutiny immediately; the papers from both scrutinies are burnt together at the end of the second scrutiny. The colour of the smoke signals the results to the people assembled in St Peter's Square. Dark smoke signals that the ballot did not result in an election, while white smoke signals that a new Pope was chosen. Originally, damp straw was added to the fire to create dark smoke; beginning in 1963 coloring chemicals have been added, and beginning in 2005 bells ring after a successful election, to augment the white smoke, and especially if the white smoke is not unambiguously white. - OriginalIk[47] Prior to 1945 (the year Pius XII changed the form of ballot to use anonymous oaths, first carried out in 1958), when the ballots were of the more complex type illustrated above, the sealing wax which was used in those ballots had an effect in making the smoke from burning the ballots either black or white, depending on whether damp straw was added or not. This explains the confusion over the color of the smoke in the conclave of 1958, with coloring chemicals added beginning in 1963.
