yeah but they don't call you asking for interviews and regularly scheduled press conferences. - dt99999
How do you know? Perhaps they do, and Pie declines. He happens to be an extremely private person. Nobody here even knows his name. |

I agree. If those things go even remotely well, he is already a success. - hscesq
Gomez ia actually a fairly simple problem to solve: the only option is to bury him (you could argue that there are in fact two options, burying him figuratively or literally)
Kaberle is a bit touchier I'd say... I think he can offer a little bit to the team... not much but a little and nowhere near compared to his deal and it still depends on Markov a bit... |

Watching the interview with Bergevin on l'antichambre last night... if anything, the guy is really happy and proud to have gotten the job. - Pecafan Fan
Also, gave more interviews in one day than Gainey/Gauthier in their entire tenure.
I have to say, so far, I like what I hear. Not the best orator, but I don't give a crap. As long as he gets the job done.
Of course, we can't really judge until he makes a few moves. Still, it's refreshing, and quite something else than what we had for the last 8-9 years. |

I think the #3 pick is an even bigger factor to his offseason and will be a greater defining moment.
I expect Gomez to be either in the minors, europe or as unluckily as it seems another NHL team. Depending on what they do with Gomez I wouldn't be shocked if Kaberle is back for another season. I think he's fairly useless and hate that Gauthier traded for him, but I don't think it's the end of the world if he's your 6th or 7th D and PP specialist. - habby

The Gomez situation will be a lot less complicated than people think. He's going to be allowed to right it off. I don't even see why people are concerned. |

I saw Pie crumble yesterday when pete and habs12 asked him to post regular updates on his whereabouts.
pretty sure the media breaks him down.
His name is Muhammad Abdul Latif Bel Kederghli |

It will all come down to how he deals with Gomez and Kaberle. Such a shame to have to inherit that mess but it will define his tenure. - Pie
Truthfully, unless a GM steps down because he's too old or whatever, rarely does a new GM inherits of team in great shape. |

Ya Kaberle is not as big of a deal as Gomez. The debate of lowering the franchise ethically/ hurting UFA attractions of burying Gomez vs burying Gomez seems silly to me but we'll get an idea of Bergevins thought process.
Bury the guy and be done with it. if he can put it together in the AHL and shine then he may have some tradability at the deadline in his last year. Its not like he hasn't been given ample opportunity to stay in the lineup and yet he still failed miserably. I have no sympathy for him. |

yeah I never got that. burying Redden didn't stop the Rangers from signing Gaborik. In the end I don't think even Scott Gomez' mom could argue against him being buried. |
