I guess after the Pens the Flyers thought they could coast into the cup finals, they need to get it in gear - bigmookalookie
The Flyers are a mess defensively. There giving up over 3 goals a game in the series. The Devils are a good team but the Flyers are making them look like an offensive powerhouse. |

It kills me to say this. Flyers + Luongo = Cup at this point in the post season. Lou can be bad from time to time. But Brys has taken the title as most overpayed goalie.
I pray Philly makes it to the finals. They are the only team that plays entertaining hockey. - TheCouv
Yeah, right. Lou with this defense the way they played the past two games? Nah. |

i've complimented bryz on 2 very good games, both unfortunately were losses. didn't blame him on the winner either. i was simply saying i wish it appeared like he competed harder to stop shots at times. sometimes his efforts look half-hearted. i'm not saying they are...but they look that way to me. - hammarby31
never said you were bad mouthing bryz, it was for those that were |

even if he had a normal contract, i wouldn't want him. never been a fan. i'm not saying i love bryz either, but not interested in lou at all.
the flyers have to look themselves in the mirror if they want to get to the finals. i still think they can. |

I completely agree with this. Even on non-soft goals I somehow get the impression that he could have made a better effort at stopping it.
Sometimes I think he has major problems with focus. |

I liked what I saw and heard in the post-game presser. I expect different next game.
Strong games from Coburn, Schenn.

I'm just saying to say they were better defensively in March without crediting Bryz is a bit odd. - bodiva88
This is why I write software and not books!
I meant to convey that both the D and the G got hot at the same time. |

Back to pre-lockout hockey in this series. When your skilled players are being held, grabbed, hooked, and clutched all over the ice it's pretty easy to neutralize them. The Flyers adjusted to this in the 3rd and OT and were getting away with the same poop, but the inconsistency of the refs in these playoffs is astonishing.
Take nothing away from the Devils, they are playing the way they need to play to win. Right now they want it more than the Flyers.
Say what you want about goaltending, but Bryz is playing much better than Brodeur so far in this series. |

When did G get hurt? - nhindian
Don'tforgettocchet could tell you when he got slashed in the hand. She believes that may be the source of things.
I'm sure we're at the point where people have things that will be revealed only when the season is over.
They have 2 days now (full days..no afternoon game sunday) to regroup, recover, and regenerate the passion and determination that fuels their game when they are playing well. I want to see that team again Sunday. |

I honestly don't think any of this is the reason we're down 2 - 1 in the series.

I wish the Flyers would throw it at Marty's feet like Richards just did on Elliott there, especially since the tic tac toe things clearly aren't working. Have to change strategy on the fly |

it's his body language, and the flailing of the stick off to the side on five hole shots especially. i agree that focus is an issue. there are other goalies i watch he never quit on the puck. bryz, this season, doesn't look a goalie in that category. he's still very good, and has made a barrel full of great stops in these playoffs keeping games close. the team in front of him has not helped him that much. |

i wish they'd do more of what happened on the briere goal. drive the net, get pucks on pudgy he's giving up rebounds. instead of taking skates with grandiose passes in mind. |

should an amnesty clause come to fruition do you think Brys will be gone? |
|

Wait a second, I understand what's happening here.... Flyers are setting things up to bury the demons of 2000. They will get down 3-1 in the series, comeback to win 3 in a row, maim Parise in game 7 and go on to win the Cup right? RIGHT?

The only one I heard was Briere talking about the Power Play. How all of them needed to play with more fire. That it is a privilege to play and they (including himself) need to play like it. |
