Rink size is really overrated. All the best players on all the top teams are going to be just as used to the smaller NHL sized rink as Canada and USA will be. The random KHLers spread throughout Russias lineup in 2014 aren't going to be gamebreakers. |

You prefer stats? Then what about when you were saying Miller was better than Price and i told you Price has a better save percentage and GAA you responded by an opinion that Miller is better? It seems you choose whatever makes Price look the worse. - jordan456789
he doesn't though. Over the past three years, Miller has a .921 sv%, and Price has a .918 sv%. |

The guy is a joke. He claims that he goes by stats but that is only when they suite him. The last three years? What did he do figure out how long ago you would have to go back before Miller would have better numbers? Like you said at his age he never became the undisputed number one until the last two years. If we are going to go back that far lets see the career numbers and Price has the edge in both save percentage and GAA. |

You guys need to stop arguing.
I think it's blatantly obvious that guys like Crosby, Stamkos, Tavares, Giroux will struggle to play well on large ice. I think this because Canada hasn't won on big ice before.
Want to know why we didn't win in '06?
http://proicehockey.about...onal/a/can_06_olympic.htm
It looks like they threw names of Canadian NHLers in a hat and got a monkey to pick them out. Kris (frank)ing Draper.
Anyways, anyone saying Canada won't be the favourite in 2014 is a retard. |

Kevin Lowe, talking about the 2006 Olympics
"No question, we picked the wrong team for that Olympics, that team we took to Torino had a lot of great players, but some of them we selected weren't the right players to play on the big European ice surface. We didn't have enough speed. And we were a little bit long in the tooth. We came off winning the World Cup of Hockey a year and a half before that. They were the right players to play on the North America ice surface but not over here. That was the biggest mistake we made." |

He's not saying those players don't exist within canada's ranks. he is saying they simply didn't take them. Hopefully they learned from that. |

I think about 5 people already posted this exact same thought..
Everyone knows what the mistake in 06 was. With or without lowes quote pointing the obvious out.
Hes certainly not saying they didnt have the right guys available. They just didnt pick them all
And again, those mistakes were'nt/wont be made again. |

He was for a while. Until he lost the job. In fact, the year before, he was for most of the year.....
I don't think two years is enough. |

Wait a second.... By any other time period, other than two years, Miller comes out on top. If anyone is using stats only when it suits himself, it's you. |

I suspect someone like Evander Kane would play the role that they’d have for Lucic. |

i wouldnt be apposed to having lucic on the 4th line and throw him out on the powerplay to play the big body outfront if needed, but just dont pick 2-3 more lucic type players |

Nhl refs dont work the olympics do they?
Cause if not,
European iihf officials wouldnt know what to do with lucic.
Theyd be losing there minds, and he'd probably be in the box the majority of the time.
Lets not forget how bad international reffing is. They see our style of game and think we're barbarians.
Cant tell lucic to tone it down really either. Ud take away the biggest part of his game which makes him dominant.
Love em, but dont think he belongs on the olympic squad. |

Don't forget
You get an extra 2 bodies per game in the Olympics.
I think it's usually best suited for defenseman so you can have 4 different 5 man units.
I consider him, but with the bigger surface probably go with somebody with better wheels |

Hey moron, if you look at the career numbers Price has better numbers. I am sure if 2 years is not enough then their entire career should be.
