After starting with a stellar 11g 8a in 16 games, Duchene has a measly 1g 1a in his last ten as the Avs have started to falter.
Is he back on the bubble? - Morris
Taylor Hall, 9 goals and 10 assists, in only 16 games, affirming that he was the right choice in bringing to camp, over anyone not invited, and many others that were. Looks to have played well enough to say that his injury may not affect his chances. I think he stands a solid chance at being taken on the team.
Jason Spezza, who while seemed to be producing some points earlier in the year despite playing poorly and being demoted to the third line, now has his production matching his performance, with just 11 points over that time, along with just two goals. At -5 over that stretch, he's really shown why he wasn't given an invite, and why he just isn't team Canada caliber.
Looks like those assembling Team Canada really know what they're talking about when they assembled the camp roster. |

It's going to be very hard to ignore Hall. He'll make the team if he stays healthy I think. |

I think so too. Prior to injury, I think he was 50/50. Now, I think 80/20 he makes it. Maybe higher.
Can you name anyone that won't make it? there won't be any centres from Ontario teams, that's for sure.

He was invited, but did not have a reasonable chance to make the team in my opinion.
There are a few players, not invited in August, that are currently playing better than Hall and may be considered higher on the depth chart today.
But now that he's injured, he probably will be sitting at home, watching games in the middle of the night with those fans who will be doing the same. - Doppleganger

I was thinking this too. he's been silent. killing my fantasy team too.
not only did they have to be on fairly equal footing coming into this year at the very least. but one could certainly make a solid argument that hall was actually ahead with top ten in scoring last year in less games played, and a better career ppg.
but if duchenes hot start vaulted him past alot of guys, while halls injury + his average (but far from terrible) start moved him back abit, the opposite has to at least be plausible now. plus, I cant imagine team Canada management putting more stock into play in October vs play in December.
hall is on fire and now has 6 more points than duchene in 1 less gp. not too mention hall just potted a hatty in their head to head matchup last week.
Id personally like to see them both on the team, but anyone who says hall doesn't have a reasonable chance at this point is either blind, or fooling themselves.
also;'russias starter is varlamov? |

If there was a team that specifically built with speed demons to capitalize on the larger ice, there'd be a chance they'd take them both.
However, there will be other olympics for them both, and It's obviously not a disadvantage to have a less gifted skater out there (Getzlaf for example) |

they do like experience.
and stevie y made this clear.
and there are a number of first timers that we know will make the team for sure.
couture, Tavares, plus at least 1 but probably 2 or 3 guys on defence.
whether stamkos plays or not really puts a wrench into naming the team.
hall isn't phenomenal defensively, so unless he gets a top 6 spot, I think he might miss out |

Giroux may very well have played himself right off the team. Certainly off the first line. Not so sure about Nash. St. Louis is pretty old. Vlasic a definite no. Personally I'd say no to Bouw too.

Dump Bergeron. Keep Stamkos as a centre. Bergeron is playing very bad right now.

Berger on is an elite two way player. No way you keep him off the team. |

Yes he is. The guy can play elite defense at Center (or wherever they put him) while still providing offense. He has to make the team. |

I agree with others that Giroux may not even make it.
Will Stamkos be ready in time? Is it worth for him to risk an early comeback?

What I find interesting is there are still so many questions surrounding Team Canada's lineup.
Isn't pretty much a given by this time what the roster will be? |

No.
We have one of the top few players in the world injured and a question mark. and with so many great players, it's gonna be a debate right till the end
Stamkos, crosby, tavares
Nash, getzlaf, perry
Couture, toews, duchene
Staal, bergeron, st.louis
Benn
Keith-doughty
Weber-subban
Pietrangelo-jaybo
Boyle
Price

This team is insane.

Can't see at this point why Giroux would be a lock over Bergeron.
Also, unless I'm mistaken doesn't Sharp play LW? If we're playing a winger away from his natural wing, why not bring a C/W like Couture instead? |

Such a quick tournament I think you need to go with Familiarity.
For me I would go something like:
Neal-Crosby-Giroux
Stamkos-Toews-St.Louis
Tavares-Getzlaf-Perry
Benn-Bergeron-Seguin
Couture/Sharp
Doughty-Weber
Keith-Seabrook
Subban-Pietrangelo

Pretty sure last Olympics was on NHL sized ice.
Also think Marc-Edouard Vlasic should be considered for the Canadian Team. |

I'd still have him on the team but it's a reason why I'd have PK. He can skate better but also played his junior career on International Ice |
