The only reason the Flyers are even in the 2nd round is because Fluery forgot how to stop a puck. Brodeur hasn't been great but he's been a hell of a lot better than Fluery was. Every team that qualified for the playoffs in the East would have beat Pitts in the 1st round the way Fluery played. - Stalemate
Haha right. LA only beat Vancouver because they played better and the sky is Blue except when it's not. |

Bryz reminds me of Pete Peeters...very stiff and not much movement, he doesnt look comfortable being a flyer and those rebounds? |

Don't worry about hockey. You got a first place Birds juggernaut on your hands. This Orioles team is legit. - PLindbergh31
good drafting by the whole NFC east, huh? should be a good year |

I don't think the Flyers were worthy of making the playoffs. |

I wanted to strangle Simmonds for his constant soft ass flips towards the Devils zone that got maybe 5 feet inside the blue line which was quickly transitioned into the Flyers zone. Yeah, he wasn't the only one but I counted at least a half dozen times he did it. - nastyflyergirl
he's not the only one and these unforced loose plays have played THE pivotal role in this series...iow, they are beating themselves as much as the devs are. |

I'm referring as much to detail-type plays where the flyers need to dump the puck deep to change lines or to change momentum by getting the puck to a safer area. they also had plenty of opps to lob pucks into corners where brodeur couldn't get to it. - isaiah520
the devils are owning the neutral zone right now, which is affecting the Flyers ability to get pucks deep. |

IMO the struggles have little to do with effort. It is the devils buying into a system that is negating the flyers attack. I actually think the flyers are close to breaking through 5 on 5. Devils allowed the flyers a bit more room in their own end as the game went on. The PP is a big issue. Flyers attacked their over aggressive kill on the Carle goal. Need more of that
Btw voracek is the flyers best forward by far |

I agree, the Flyers were the better team in OT -- despite the two power plays they were awarded. |

beside the line change screw up, the flyers were playing a dam good period. the devils are just making the flyers pay for their mistakes faster then the pens. |

Stephen Hawking could be playing goal for the Devils right now. Broduer hasn't had to be that great. |

Giroux has not been terribly effective. He needs to get back in gear and assert himself. I want Laviolette to be able to call him the 'best player in the world' again, I loved the bit of outrage that came after that. |

Jagr I get he's 40. Theres speculation of a giroux injury. I read somewhere he was seen wincing and talking to the trainer during warmup? |

Actually, he reminds me more of Leighton.
Big. Not that mobile. Not athletic. Poor stick handler. Has a hard time rebounding to his feet once he's down. Very inconsistent. |

This team is like a kid in high school that can't do their homework unless it's due in about 10 minutes (I know I was that kid and yes i worked on the next class's hw constantly in the preceeding class. I often said it's classwork not homework). There's a ton of mental mistakes going on out in that mess. Give the Devils their due they aren't making any, hence the 2-1 lead. My gosh where's the second and third efforts on Brodeur, traffic in front of the net, etc. Oh yea and the piss poor line change. Well I thought they'd get it done in 5 games guess it's gonna take 6 maybe 7 now. |

I and the CBC announcers last night think that he's hurt.
I hope Cooter's ok... hopefully it's only a superficial cut and nothing too deep.
I think it's amazing that Kubina can't even play. He must have a torn labrum in his shoulder or something like that.
I was SOO sure that when Schenn tipped that shot in OT, that he had the winner. The season is on the line Sunday. |

the fans want to love him so bad
