honestly, I don't know how we won game one, or how we won the season series against you guys. The teams really look to be on a different level.
Assuming you win the series (which is a pretty safe assumption LOL), and assuming you continue to play this way, I can't see any team preventing you from winning the Cup.
im worried about the kings...and to a lesser degree the rangers if they beat washington...the only saving grace is quick is way overdue to go cold - Xnightwish
Quick has literally played at that level all year. He might have had a few choke ups along the way but nothing drastic. If you're going to beat the Kings you better play hard. I think the Kings are the favorite to win it this year. They have all the right tools.
this is close to the series we had with Philly 2 years ago, except roles are reversed. .. and we were even worse 2 years ago. that was bad. But this is brilliant, beautiful, bodacious. Loving every second of this. It feels so good to be a great team again.
Wow. The forecheck was great again. But we were also tremendous in our own zone. Flawless. Strong on sticks. Handling rebounds and loose pucks in front with ease. Anticipating and turning defense to offense at any opportunity. Quick decisions in the neutral zone, quick chips into the zone when there was nothing else to be had by skating.
Zidlicky was tremendous. All over the ice. Greene and Fayne were steady as usual though Fayne had that giveaway where he atoned by pokechecking the puck away.
Should we win the series (and nothing is assured as far as I am concerned) the Rangers or Caps will present uniquely different challenges.
What does not change is this. The system does not matter so much (in reference to the difference between this team and the trapping ones). How you play it does. We had players anticipating and getting to the right places two steps faster than the opponent all night. Winning the battles that had to be won. All 4 East teams are pretty even in talent, even though each team's is distributed differently. Whoever plays with the most attention to detail and the most consistency in doing the little things is the one that will win. While it is tempting to think ahead, the Flyers are still loaded with talent. A win at home in game 5 could very easily tilt momentum. One concern if I am a Flyer fan is that even with the two days of rest and preparation, they seemed no better able to handle the NJ forecheck. That has to change obviously. But can it? They had time to prepare and rest before game 4 and they still could not do it.

I see no chance that the Flyers do anything different in game 5. They are completely at a loss as to how to handle the Devils hard forecheck.
The only thing Flyers fans can hope for at this point is that the Devils relax in game 5, thinking it's in the bag. Then, with a game 5 win, maybe the Flyers can get the fortitude to get a game 6 win.
I fully expect this to be over in a couple of days.

No way dude. Flyers are just toying with the Devils and are going in for the kill shot now.
If I've learned anything about hockey, it is that even if Giroux gets suspended he'll still be able to score up in the GM's box. He's that good. - Pomegrant
The rock was so electric tonight. I loved the huge American flag being carried around the lower bowl during the national anthem. Haven't seen a playoff win in person since game 3 of 2007 against Ottawa!

I am beyond thrilled that the Devils are up 3-1, but on Tuesday night... we all know it's going to be a dog fight. I think the Flyers are gonna come out and literally fight their way for a win. Just hope the Devils stay away from that.

I agree. Was having that same conversation with my dad driving home. They're gonna do everything they can to get momentum back. I expect them to come out and play physical, and dirty. We just need to walk away and stay on our game, because if we do, the series is over anyway
Here's hoping to erase past memories! - Brute Force
As far as I'm concerned, we already have. We questioned if Parise was a real playoff leader and he has stepped up to the plate. For me he leads by example. He is flying every shift and working so hard on every board battle. This team has new invigoration that we've been lacking in the past 5 years.
