Uh, what? I've seen 14 pages of trying to figure out exactly why the Flyers are getting their asses kicked (you know, aside from not playing hockey very well).

Rocky: I see three of him out there.
Paulie: Hit the one in the middle.
Duke: Right! Hit the one in the middle.

Maybe this will help the Flyers.

After sleeping on it, they do look like a tired group.

Emotionally and physically.

Yea, I'll give you that, but they really need to learn how to play against teams with strong defenses... Couldn't beat NYR at all and struggled against teams with good D like NJ and Boston. Sure wish we were playing Ottawa or Florida this round...

I totally agree but with the cap I think it's going to be tough structuring the team into that mold and if they do some eggshells gotta be cracked and people are gonna get pissed.
- JoeRussomanno

There's gonna be eggshells cracked, regardless.

They could easily end up moving JvR for defensive help, allow Jagr to walk...I wouldn;t count anything out.

I'd rather they hold onto young players and move those in their late to mid 30's, even if they do score in the playoffs, but that's just my preference. (Feels the dark side of the force closing around trachea.)

The Devils won their last game of the series last night.

I don't see it happening, but if it were ever to come to pass, I would totally consider it as karma righting the fact that the same thing happened to us in 2000.

I don't even want to think about the offseason. Flyers have to win tomorrow night. I really believe they can win three straight games.

WHERE IS THE VERDICT!

I want to see what zany punishment Shanahan comes up with.

Like "Claude Giroux of the Philidelphia Flyers is sentenced to playing the remainder of the playoffs with his skates tied together, as well as paying a fine of $63.42".

Too much talent up front.. or potential talent.. and not enough on Defense. I dont care what moves are made, as long as something is done to improve the defense. Not just with Defenseman, but with defensive forwards too.

Makes you wonder if the amnesty happens if Briere gets it. 6.5 million could go a long way on this team.

Who is moveable?

Jagr can be allowed to walk, but who else is there? Hartnell and Briere have NTC/NMC. Shelley could be dumped to the AHL. Talbot's been a great value. There's really nobody else that old.

There's likely not going to be any amnesty. They can find cheap vets to handle defensive forward roles. Bigger key is getting the young guys to play better defense.

I'm speaking very hypothetically. I'd rather hold onto Hartnell than the other guy actually. Hartnell isn't having the greatest series, but you need guys like him that can mix it up, battle in the crease etc.

I guess Jvr is the best option to move but he's so young with so much upside.

The season isn't over yet and still very extendable.

if that's the case I think patience is paramount and flying off the handle in the offseason is not warranted.

Agreed on the last part. I haven't thought about the offseason in awhile.

Personally, I'd like to see Carle moved. Jagr can go, not that I would want him to, but his money could be used for V. I'm on the fence with JVR. He is a big talented KID. When he becomes a man, he will have a few very good years. I would only trade him if you are getting a bona fide legit top 2 dman. Move mezz if need be. Kimmo is done after next year, and I want to say Harts is a UFA also. Honestly, the new CBA will be a downer I feel. Homer has a lot to think about. Hopefully he doesn't jump the gun.

True JVR is easiest moved, but I think you could get move value from Voracek. You might not get a better return, but I think you get better value.

Agreed wholeheartedly.

That said, trading a young forward for a good young defenseman isn't flying off the handle.

Backs are up against the wall. Coming back home. Could be without Giroux in the lineup. They say the hardest game to win in sports is a "closeout". The Flyers will need to feed off of the crowd and I believe they will win this game at home.

I'd much rather hold onto Voracek. If he learns how to finish hes going to be a superstar. Probably the most underrated player on that team right now, at least imo.

I agree. But at what point do you make the trade? Draft? FA? Pre-season? Or deadline next year?

With the CBA expiring after FA, it might be better to wait until the season starts, and see what happens. It would also give JVR some time in-season to gain value with his play...

I'd rather not trade anyone. If a trade has to be made, make sure you get value.
