I agree. But at what point do you make the trade? Draft? FA? Pre-season? Or deadline next year?

With the CBA expiring after FA, it might be better to wait until the season starts, and see what happens. It would also give JVR some time in-season to gain value with his play...

I think what really needs to be done is the NHL needs to let players retire without it affecting their team's cap if it is due to injury such as what is happening with Pronger. They are basically handcuffed to a player that can't play and that isn't fair to the player or the team.

I'd rather not trade anyone. If a trade has to be made, make sure you get value.

Ah it's just frustrating when they are facing elimination in this manner. I'm just not ready to watch another month of Hockey without my flyers.

Other than Couturier and Talbot and sometimes Giroux which Flyers forwards are very good in their own end?
- Dkos

Voracek is pretty muc always reliable defensively. I think they all can be. It's just a matter of doing it.

They say the hardest game to win in sports is a "closeout".

And the Devils are staring at three of them. Gotta be weighing heavily on their minds.

Why would a player who is injured, retire? And give up that pay check. There are systems in place to deal with that in the off season.

LET a guy who's injured retire? You mean let a guy decide that now that he can't play any more he will never get another big paycheck so he will willingly say, "No, that's okay, you don't have to keep paying me on a contract after I'm basically disabled." Good luck with that.

Yea, now we just have to convince the Flyers not to lose another game... Which might be tougher..

I think it's hysterical, and very twitter friendly. I wouldn't be heartbroken if it went away, but if they do replace it the new song probably won't be nearly as fun.

It's a megajinx. The picture may as well pan out to him using the Stanley Cup as his tee.

Then let the team buy him out and he can retire without it affecting their cap. i don't think it's fair a team has to be stuck with a guy for multiple seasons against their cap if he can't play.

You've just got the wrong mindset about it. If #doop goes out get ready, because they'll probably replace it with that horrid Party Rock Anthem or something

Its the risk you take by signing guys to long term deals/circumventing the cap

I'm trying to come up with a response to any of these posts, but I can't even begin to wrap my mind around salary cap logic. Somewhere between the disappointment of last night and the lack of AC in the office today

then they need to fire the people playing it due to total lack of creativity. At least the Bro hymn was about brotherhood and had a no man left behind feel to it.

That doop thing is pokemon and sponge bob square pants and really makes me want to throw up. It's the freaking soccer team's song already! give me a break.

First of all, the cap is bullcrap anyway. To me its like people wanting a socialist government when the economy is bad.

Second, there are risks involved with every signing but I don't think a franchise should be eternally punished due to injury.
