sorry, I still believe the capital of TX is Houston. - wilsonecho91
would you believe the reboot is actually filmed and completed just sitting on a shelf in a studio? Probably for the better as apparently the invading country is North Korea. What they didn't hear of China!? |

Everyone has been with the exception of a few guys. Bryzgalov, Giroux has played well at times, and Wellwood, outside of that the entire team has collectively poop themselves. - PLindbergh31
I would not include Giroux as one of the players on the play well list, even at times. In fact he's been a big disappointment in the Series. |

Especially when he had a primary assist and a short handed goal in the period of a minute to give the team a 2 goal lead last night. Just terrible.

The Deb's have zeroed in on Clude, but when he had opportunities, he attempted to be a little, say, too creative than I would have liked to see. |

if i remember correctly, it was initially China, but they ended up changing it at the last minute (with reshoots in some places) to make it North Korea so that the film could be shown in China. I'll look it up and edit.

no you are right just looked it up out of curiosity, yes it was china then they changed it. lame. I'll have chips ready for the cheese dip. If I ever see it. shame.
Just hit me that would be the second Milius remake in a year that hollywood totally screwed up. Is there something against using the original directors/producers to do reboots or sequels?

I find it very hard to believe Carle will be resigned. I just believe what he will command in years and yearly salary will be too much for the Flyers too match. If there are no changes to the CBA about tagging, then Pronger's money is on the cap through the summer.
Also, at this point, I don't believe Jagr will be resigned. A 40 year old winger with groin issues I'm not to sure about. Certainly, I've enjoyed Jagr this year, but I think the money should be spent elsewhere at this point.
When the season is over, I do expect to hear an update on Pronger rather quickly. There was news before the second last Pittsburgh game during the regular season, he was starting to feel better and was scheduled to see the specialist about possibly increasing his workouts. Of course, all news around Pronger has gone silent because of the playoffs, and certainly that was the correct approach. I certainly hope the captain is experiencing a better quality of life since the last time there was news on him. |

That was fine. What about the rest of the game? Was he one of the best players on the ice last night? For either side? Not even close. During the Pens series, I called Giroux the best player in the NHL right now. I would not do so right now, during this Series. And that is disappointing. He's not the only one. All of the Flyers top players have been disappointing in the Series.

I agree with all of that. But on July 1, tagging space isn't an issue.

The playoffs is not the time to be playing a player just to gain him some experience. Lilja has been on the ice for 4 goals in the Series. None of which I can pin on Lilja. - MJL
I'll agree to disagree politely. Vets can't get it done. Play the kids. They have shown they can play all year, let them show it now too. I'm not saying go crazy and sit Briere or Jagr or Harts. But give guys like Schenn, Simmonds, and Read more playing time with Giroux out.
The Parise tying goal in game 3 was all Lilja just to name one, many people blamed Bryz for not getting across fast enough but Lilja coughed it up like a fur ball and a cat. Zajacks goal in game 2, Lilja was a pedestrian and was out of position. He is not the reason they are losing. But, all in all he has not been more effective then Gus IMHO. If anything and I'm being objective I might say it is complete wash between the two. Lilja has done fine and makes a fine #7 D man. Why he has been playing the penalty kill some is beyond me. I would go Gus for game 5. |

I'd agree with the rest of your assessment. |

Thanks, I thought it was. I believe Carle will get somewhere between $5.5-$6.5 million per year and at least 5 years in length. I would figure Carle would wait for Suter to set the market on defensmen, and then sign after him. |

Remember how dominating the Flyers were down the stretch of the 3rd period and in OT in game 1 in this series? Devils adjusted nicely and haven't looked back. |

Of course your going to have to play some other players more with Giroux out.
Lilja was absolutely not out of position in game 2 on the Zajac goal. Zubrus was Lilja's check and he had him well sealed off. JVR let Zajac go behind the net, and stood and watched. Briere had the best seat in the house as he stood there and watched Zajac come from behind the net on the wrap around. Lilja and Gustafsson got zero help from the Forwards. You got the wrong guy.
On the Parise goal in game 3. Carle gave Lilja the puck in a bad spot. The puck was bouncing with a forechecker right on him. And Carle got beat off the wall to the net by Parise for the goal.
Lilja is better suited for that 3rd pair right now. And in my opinion, that's who the Coaching staff would go with. But who knows.

Not nearly good enough where I would list him as one of the players playing well. I can put a lot of players on the list of playing well at times. That isn't good enough in the playoffs.

Certainly, I give the Devils credit. However, I think the forwards are not doing a good enough job supporting the d-men in the defensive zone. Finally, I can't believe how many one-on-one battles the forwards are losing along the wall. You would think Stevens, Neidermeyer, and Daneyko were out there. All of the forwards are not playing smart. |

Doesn't help that Hartnell is playing on one foot in this series, and Jagr has suddenly turned into a 100 year old man.
On the list of reasons why the Flyers are being manhandled in this series, Giroux is about as culpable as Bryzgalov. Guys like Simmonds, Jagr, and the entire defense core have been empty uniforms. I'm going to give Timonen a mulligan as well, he was the teams best d-man all year, and I believe we will hear very shortly after the season has concluded that Timonen will be going under the knife. |

I know I'm late to this, been at work so no time to get on HB. I'd be ok with the G getting a game for the hit if Shanny was consistent. Weber slams Zetterberg's head into the boards WWF style and gets a fine, which san't even be considered a hockey play. Then he gives G a game for that. This is a joke. I get it the league wants head shots out, but with the ruling against Weber Shanny just showed what a joke the league is. |
