This only underscores just how badly they played.

I thought it underscored how important matchups are actually.

No doubt. The finger is point squarely at Bylsma and his system if you ask me. Defense wins in the playoffs.

If your team is only prepared to beat some of the teams......you're team isn't prepared to win a championship. The Devils would have owned the Pens too.

Actually since the lockout out of the 6 Cup winners 4 were in the top 5 in goals per game. Pittsburgh was 6th and Anaheim was 8th.

Whew!! All's right in the world again! Now can we have Ovi gone too please. I'd love to see the Kings win this year, but no Caps or Yotes please!

Well... the NHL is headed back to pre-lockout rules. Thus, we have Kings, Yotes, Devils.....and most likely the Rags.....all in the top 10 in goals against. I believe 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 9th.

Not arguing that scoring isn't important. Just saying the team defensive effort from the Pens was laughable down the stretch. Highlighted by some of the most embarrassing playoff losses I've ever witnessed.

I actually feel better about the Pens loss now, and that may sound crazy, but I fully believe this team will learn to keep it under control next year, and stay focused from the coaches on out. And management is smart enough to put the pieces in place and possibly sprinkle a solid veteran in or two, as they have proven a must have esp. in these playoffs.

The people who run this orginization are smart, good hockey people. the way they lost this year was an abbaration, not a trend. Play smart and focused and the sky is the limit.

Yeah, yeah, I'm sure we've earned the flack. Just remember, the only celebrating your doing is over our elimination. Far higher expectations were blown on the west end of the state this year.

Not as bad as I thought, but I just don't have it in me for 'those' conversations. I figure you guys could use a tame, tasteful, resident troll Flyers fan

Oddly enough, I don't hate them as much as I did yesterday. I'm still cheering for them to lose, after all the hype about the conference title.

Man, I am so not ready for offseason talk. Where are we at here? Still throwing Martin into a volcano and exiling Bylsma?

Nah, more advanced now. Trading Staal, Malkin, or Sid....local media keeps the debate fresh too. No certainty of anything til new CBA = lots of hot air and speculation.

The CBA thing is kind of a stick in the spokes. There's been all this talk of an amnesty, I'm really not expecting it myself. As for the 'trade one of the centers' thing, I'd be least hesitant to trade Staal (hate sending the best player in a trade). That's tough, having two of those contracts expire at once, with the third to follow. It's a bit forward thinking, but is a raise on the radar for Sid and/or Malkin?
