I like JVR and think he will be a great player, but i think he needs to get traded cause staying here isn't motivating his ass. - Philly1980
With the new CBA coming up, I would rather Homer hold onto JVR unless there is an offer that is just too good to refuse. This way, JVR will have time next season to show he can play when not injured and either be the player we want him to be, or decide we can trade him to fill a need in-season or at the TDL.
Or they finally got favorable matchups, rather than drawing Detroit in the first round. We saw two years ago what getting favorable matchups during the postseason can do. - eayost
Chicago and Nashville aren't exactly favorable matchups imo. They both have significantly more talent than Phoenix does.
The only thing that as a devils fan I'd be concerned with is Brodeur turning back into a 40 year old pumpkin. He was barely tested against the Flyers and I think in the next round or two a team will be able to pressure him more. Other wise I think that team is sending fatso off into the sunset with another cup. - JoeRussomanno
I see that as their weak spot, too. He wasn't spectacular against Florida and wasn't tested against Philly.
The upside of that, though, is he's not signed for next season so he's playing for a contract. He'll want to show he's the real deal and can come through in the clutch.

I dunno im on the line with him...it doesnt seem we need more offense on this team, we need defense. I think in order to get talent you have to trade talent. JVR + Read + 2 1st for Weber? i would do that...
Be funny to see that wwf move put on malkin next year!

I would take price in a heartbeat because he is younger...yeah. - Philly1980
Don't ya just love these thought provoking questions being used to get us to bash our goalie? Just love it today. Well i'm out for the day got stuff to do have a good one guys. Go Flyers!!!
I don't get the "refs you suck" when you could instead be cheering on your team with the "Lets go Flyers".
Not trying to tell the fans how to act, just don't understand their logic. - ggunky
I'm amused by all of these chants. Remember the Na Na Na Na chant with 3 min left in the Pens game. Wait till it over or at least 30 second left. i will say the Devils have some crazy ass chants as well...saw it live Game 3 I was laughing the whole time...

Yeah i know man...i do think Price is better than Bryz and has more potential...But i also think that Bryz is very capable of leading this team to a cup if he has the right support.

He's a 60-65 point player tops. Not great and not the difference maker Holmgren hopes he will become. Not acceptable for his skill set or draft position taken.
I'd trade him in a heartbeat for the 2nd overall pick in any future draft.
said it last night, will say it again today, this team has 2 major issues moving forward; they need to find out why they are so inconsistent game to game. The rags are a very good team because, quite simply, they are relentless game in and game out and they play the same way every night. They work their asses off EVERY game. Those of us who remember the mid 80s teams know that this was their major trait as well. This team does not have that trait; unless that is fixed, they are no threat to win a cup. The other issue that has to get fixed; team defense...it is AWFUL. They are a bad defensive team as a whole. I don't know how you fix it, but if they are going to move forward with Bryz, they better learn to play better in their own end...just my $.02 - matman31
Teams of the 80s had good two-way players like Poulin, Sutter, and Zezel. I think the Flyers have too many defensively deficient players. I'm not bashing Briere but he is a really good offensive player who struggles mightily defensively. JVR isn't very good efensively. Jagr was a liability late this season defensively. Even sometimes Giroux isn't committed defensively and leaves a gap because he is trying to look for the quick counter. When you have 2 of those players on 1 line, its rough. I do like Couturier, Talbot, Wellwood, and Read's defensive capabilities.
I don't know what they can to their roster maybe trade JVR and not resign Jagr and have more balanced lines defensively.
