the 1st goal was a big deflection, most goalies wont get it
2nd while he did f up big time on it, he isnt a puckhandler and doesnt make the best decisions and timmonen put him in a bad situation
3rd was a blast into the upper corner off post by kovy, not too many woulld stop that
bryz was far from the problem - dmarsden2988
That was a cut and paste from a Bob McKenzie article. Very surprised by the lack of quality analysis from him |

system issue or personnel issue (not saying trade the personnel, but symptomatic of a really young and talented forward corps)? - OrangeBlack27
Combination of both, as well as inexperience.
The system is designed to get the lead and play with the lead.. some how we ended up losing almost every single time we got the first goal (one exception). I think youth was a big reason for that. We had 8 guys 23 or younger out on the ice last night..
Coots, Read, Schenn, Voracek, Gusty, and Wellwood are all playing in their first playoffs.. They all played well over bits of the first round, but some were pretty non existent in the second round (a side from a goal here or there). Most were not very noticeable. This will prepare them for the next time. |

speaking of Vancouver I'd explore getting Edler.
he had a tough playoffs but is a great young defenseman.
It would cost Jvr + I think, but those are the kind of guys I'd look for.
John Carlsen is another one.
These are the kind of players that are rarely moved though, so it may be a pipe dream - Marc D

I think the coaching staff struggled this series, we need a new goalie coach and Bryz has to be better next year and Homer needs to get a couple of good young D men. Did Jersey even work up a sweat this series? |

obviously i am happy the devils won last night and finished the series, but i feared that if the flyers won last night that the flyers had a good chance to win the series, would of had a lot more jump with giroux coming back and could have pulled through with a win and game 7 at home would have been scary for the devils
*while i thought the giroux hit was def suspendable worthy due to the intent, i was shocked that he was suspended due to the way shanahan has been giving suspensions out, thought it could have gone either way
good luck next season |

Absolutely. Thats what happens when you play 60 minutes of hard nosed, battle for every inch hockey.. regardless of whether or not the other team fights back.
Cudos to the Devils for putting on a hockey clinic. It was impressive. |

BY the way, has the McKenzie blog on Bryz been removed? When I click on the story page, I get only the comments section.

I got into an arguement with a few guys because they didnt think it warranted a penalty.
My rationale is always, how would I react if it happened to a Flyer... I would have been furious. Penalty warranted.. suspension (tough) but I think the right choice. |

They picked up a sweat, like the sweat you pick up from a well-planned workout at the gym. Flyers picked up a sweat of the kind where you are running in panic. NJ played more, and moved more in the post-season; Flyers looked much more gassed. |

Maybe an intern wrote it and it was so bad they had to remove it.
I do wonder sometimes if those guys actually write everything posted, or if some of those "article" are like letters from a congressman, written by interns. |

Well, if Flyers had been the beneficiaries of non-suspensions for similar offences in the past, and there was one on us, I personally would be ok with a non-suspension. Consistency is very important. Same as in a game. Something could be clearly hooking but often that is let go in say overtime of a playoff game unless really, really bad. But if you suddenly call one and say of course it is hooking, and yes it is, then it is reasonable to question about the other missed ones. |
