On the topic of grit....
Rinaldo was unbelievable last night. His best in a Flyers sweater, in my opinion - Giroux_Is_God
I have no idea why Lavi cut his time as opposed to bumping it up. The first goal came right after Rinaldo buried the Volchenkov. I'll take a penalty a period from him if he's out there burying guys in the ice with clean hits like Volchenkov and Salvador. |

The only downside to this I see is that he will want a long term deal, probably 5 years, and he is 31 already. - PT21
I would go 3 years total 7.5M= 2.5M cap hit
Max offer. Take it or leave it Kelly. |

I just looked up his stats. 20 goals, durable, +33. I think he will get 2.5 for 5 years from some team easy. |

Terms are always a concern, Kelly's play on the ice is exactly what the Flyers need. I just want to see a winger with a little more scoring touch then Wellwood with Talbot and Coots. I think a guy who may grow into that role is Nick Cousins. I know, I know it is a long shot he will make the big club next year. Probably as much of a long shot as Coots making the big club this year. Certainly I would want to see Cousins start in the AHL (not sure about his eligibility because of age). |

In my opinion, Thomas' value is modest at best at 38, but that doesn't mean someone won't pay him a decent amount for a year or 2. - wolfhounds
I agree with you here. Going off of this, if we look at Thomas' "modest" value at age 38, I think Homer could definitely pull something good for a 24ish year old goalie that's already pretty good.... |

David Jones from Colorado could fit the bill. He's set to be an UFA.
He can pot some too. Kind of like a Brouwer. - LordStanley88
Jones is made of glass. Dude is an injury waiting to happen. Can't stay healthy to save his life. That, and he's nowhere near as physical as Brouwer (which is to be expected since, as I may have mentioned, he's made of glass). |

He had one of his best years this season. You are probably right but I'm not overpaying for Chris Kelly. I like him as a player but anything over 2.5M per year cap hit wise is too much of a risk for that long of a deal. |

I'd say Cousins is still a year or 2 away... |

i enjoyed jagr this year, but his best days are over. get younger and get someone eles in his spot. maybe voracek can make that leap |

Like to see Coots and Schenn develop more on their offense. I think both players can score 20-25 goals next year. - stveshdy
Hopefully the days of Coots centering Shelley and Harry Z are over. Seriously, I fully expect both to take a serious step forward in point production. As much as I like Jagr, I think these guys can easily eat up his minutes on the PP. I know Schenn was already on the 2nd PP unit in the playoffs. |

Thats why I liked the Jagr deal bc it was a one year deal. Now they can part ways if they wish. |

I would tend to agree with you, but I'm really looking forward to see what he can do. Certainly the organization should have a ton of confidence that indeed young guys can step up if needed. |

Yup. I thought Jagr looked like a player who was done. When he starts losing battles on the wall he becomes pretty much invisible bc thats his strength. |

That was a given. He needed rocket skates to get into the corners to battle the NJ players. Zero pressure on them. |

which is why they need, a guy like kelly. grit with scoring touch. I really do think this team is a few away from becomming a threat. Homer will make stuff happen. |

I dunno...at a 2.5 hit I think I might give Kelly 5 years. It'd be the limit for me though. |

A huge red flag was how his play deteriorated as the season went along. Otherwise overall we certainly got value for his contract.
Sign him for 2 mil and ask him to report to the team 1st week of Jan
Is this Pronger news conference story legit? |
