Yes, he will be traded before Canadian Thanksgiving, fail the physical and get sent back. Then he will be traded before American Thanksgiving, once and for all, before being acquired in Spring 2014 for the stretch drive that season.

By that time bob has averagely outplayed beach ball Bryzgalov right out of town. Homer gets fired and Pronger takes over and begs the kings on his hands and knees to trade Richards and carter back to us. |

Pronger only gets front office duties if he's symptom free for, like, 3 years. Have you forgotten the Jay Snider era?

Jason Baconchihuahua will be re-signed by January 1 to settle the goalie question once and for all.

I'm running on fumes/3 hours of sleep. Who's the other instance besides Farwell? |

We can all ask the questions. Here are the answers:
1) Don't trade JVR. Tons of potential, still young. Beyond that, you buy low, sell high. Always. No exceptions. Can't make this clearer, and this is a general lesson of life.
2) Bye Matt Carle. Like him but not at $5m per year. You can't always get what you want (Stones song applies here).
3) Jagr - great year, but not what we need.
4) Pronger - Long Term injured list. No question.
5) We are deep on offense, and generally really young. Don't discount this.
Harts Giroux ????
Schenn Briere Simmonds
JVR Coots Voracek
Read Talbot Rinaldo
We need a sniper RW. Sort of like Neal for Pittsburgh. Maybe a poor man's version. We don't need another power forward, as Harts, Simmonds and JVR can fill these roles. Maybe Schenn plays on the top line and the deck is shuffled, which it will be anyway.
6) On D, Coburn, Timmo, Mezaros, Grossman, Kubina - assuming they are all healthy this isn't bad. No need to radically change. Maybe add a skating D-man, not a high priced one though.
Goalie - no changes
We are an elite team when healthy, but as some have mentioned, struggle against certain teams. I would agree the Devils played better but they were also very lucky.
If I were to trade anyone it would be Voracek. Good young player but doesn't elevate the team. Coots and Schenn will get bigger roles.
If we could trade Briere, that would be ideal. I know about the NTC, but maybe he would like to spend his last 2 years in Canada. His salary is the big killer.

Forget trading Briere. The only way(s) he is leaving town is via mercy buyout (actual term escapes me at the moment re: rumored new CBA allowing a single contract buyout) or retirement. He's settled in, his kids are entrenched here, they're close to their mom, etc.
I also think Kubina is gone. Or done. I believe Gustafsson and/or Bourdon are in next year's D mix. |

No. Too slow, and always took too many bad penalities. Rather have Jagr back for another year. |

As a 4th line guy with Wellwood, not a horrible idea. 1 year 1 mil.
I would consider it.
Edit: I see Skip isn't interested in my point of view on this only MJL's.

Lets get nutty for a second.
As they are obviously a rebuilding tean, and under new management.
As they have no real mentor for the kid and that is the biggest thing he needs imo.
As his cap hit is great.
Would there be any interest in Subban? - flyer_nutter
I've wanted subban for a while. he's immature, but he's displayed a wide range of talents and done so in big games. now that nutjob is out in MTL, I doubt that he's available, however. |

I don't have to forget it. I don't think it will happen, but it would be ideal.
Voracek isn't a scapegoat. No one player should be, other than Pronger's injury. IMO, he is a top 10 or even 5 player over the past 10 years.
Look at a team like the Rangers. They came from nowhere. They missed the playoffs when we made a cup run. But they have a ton of good young players. Not 12 all stars, but a lot of good young players. Add Gaborik and Richards and boom, best team in the league.
We don't need a Richards - we have centers galore and always have. It is a Gaborik type player that I want...pure scorer, sniper, offensive creator...whatever.
I agree that Kubina may be done as well but I have no way of knowing. He would be nice to have on the power play and as a #6 though. No doubt. |
