how about salo for 2 mil?
if possible of course. i could be ok with something like that. giving the kids a shot until the TDL is a decent option as well - FlyerMike18
Sami Salo is CONSTANTLY hurt.
I'll pass on that headache. Like we don't have to deal with it already...
No thanks |

The problem isn't going to be fitting them in under the 69M. The problem will be fitting them in under the Off Season Cap. - MJL
hmmmmm, Carle and Langkow then I guess |

I think if Suter does end up staying in Nashville, the Flyers might take their best shot at trying to pry away Weber a year before he can become a UFA.
With Timonen's contract expiring after next season (and facing surgery/surgeries this summer) and Pronger's career in severe jeaopardy, I could see them making a bold move to try to bring in a franchise D, whatever it takes.
Mind you, that's strictly my own conjecture, but we all know how the Flyers operate. They aim high. - bmeltzer
Bill...not to give Bryz a pass but When he got hurt at the end of the year, he never seemed to get back to the way he was playing in the last month....he lost his mojo and the players in front of him were changing ..... why didn't the coverage tv or print media give him a break....no pun intended......I never heard the tv guys saying how slow he was going from side to side is b/c of an injury....they just said he was not playing well..... do you think that injury not only messed with him physically but mentally as well???? |

Why do we want Langkow back, exactly? - bodiva88
Because we have gone far too long without the services of a player who hits the post far more often than the back of the net.
"Clangkow" is the player I remember... |

He was Lang-cow before. Now he's Lang-koe. Totally different. I'm expecting big things from him now that he's found himself. |

Retread Flyers are a tradition, but I'd prefer really good retread Flyers. |

Yes and he could be ours again. Just an example of a veteran 2 way center out there who could fill a 4th line role...move around the lineup if need be, maybe take a discount for a shot at the cup. |

Langkow apparently prefers to be out west. He's still a serviceable two-way player but I'd rather the Flyers add a role player who is physically bigger and is also a little younger.
Just about the only undersized forward in whom I would have interest in the Flyers adding right now is Zach Parise.... and that's for quite a different spot in the lineup |

agreed. want no part of lang-whatever. If we're going to spend money on a 4th line center it should be someone like Gaustad (prolly too expensive), or someone else that can actually help us. Daymond is pretty much Dunmond I think.
Plus, after games he'd have to fight Jagr for the wheelchair, and that would just get ugly.
EDIT: Just say Bill's post. I'll concede that he's serviceable. But we can do better than serviceable I hope. |

I think it definitely affected him physically. Mentally, can't say.

Someone more along the lines of Jarret Stoll or Paul Gautad, depending on what else the Flyers plan to do. |

I wouldn't mind adding either player, I just don't think the Flyers will spend that kind of money for a 3rd or 4th line player.
You would think Stoll and Gaustad are going to command decent money (maybe if Jagr walks?). |

Bill, since you've probably seen more Stars games than anyone else on here, I'm curious what you think of Adam Burish? He's a UFA, his last deal was only $1.3M, and he was over 55% at the dot last season. Could he be a fit for the Flyers? |

Would love him on the Flyers. Great locker room guy (very personable, keeps everyone loose), gritty on the ice, agitator, good on PK, a pain to play against. Just no hands whatsoever.
Stars want to re-sign him. If you look at team's record last two seasons with and without him in the lineup, it's pretty clear why.
Supposedly, Chicago also wants him back.

Another name I'll toss into the mix -- depending on what else the Flyers do and if there's a spot for him, P-A Parenteau is a moderate-priced player I'd have some interest in for the Flyers. |

Exactly. The Flyers always throw their name into the hat even when they have no business being in it. In this case, Weber could solve a lot of on ice problems for the Flyers. |

Sounds like just what we need. I'm willing to put up with the "no hands" for all the other attributes you listed, and he'll likely cost a lot less than Gaustad or Stoll. |

Interesting. Where would you see him fitting in on the Flyers? Seems like more of a top-9 type guy than a 4th liner. Or are you thinking that there will be some openings in the top nine (either through Jagr leaving or someone else being moved to acquire a d-man)? |

I think there will at least one top-nine opening, yes. I don't think the entire top 9 will be back, though not sure who specifically.
Parenteau gave the Flyers some problems this season, though his stat line (0 G, 3 A in 6 games) wouldn't show it.
