Read my edit.

Also, exploiting natural ressources with the increase in value they have had and they will have in the next few decades due to the high demand in those is everything but a 'risk'.

Exploiting the Baie-James was probably a bigger risk back then, and it's now one of the biggest feat of this province...

Of course...that's assuming you leave without your share of the debt and ownership of all the international airports (MTL/Qc City), federal bridges and federal government buildings without paying them. It would be a very ugly divorce.

30% or so of the federal bridges, airports, government buildings and so are owned by the province. Same with the army facilities and weapons/vehicles.

23% Can't have it both ways.

Either way, it's a MUCH bigger question than just that. You would need your own currency (hello Ameros), based on the province size and tax burden, it wouldn't be worth much. The other way is to adopt the Canadian dollar with Canada's permission, have no control over the financial policies concerning your currency, the St-Lawrence River by law belongs to the Feds....HUGE legal mess that would take decades to solve.

that's fair though, if they have 23% of the debt, they have 23% of the assets.

There are a lot of questions that come to mind indeed, and I'm not a mastermind of that plan, so I can't really answer everything...

I'd like to have a chat with one of the leading péquiste.

meh. I was a bit surprised to read that he said he was interested...after all, he's still working at the moment...if that interview did happened and he told the reporter he was interested, that was a clumsy comment. He should have just brushed off the question.

They have no idea most of them how it would work since they would not be in a position of force in those negotiations. Divorces are often ugly, this one would be for sure. Just think of all the anglos leaving the province, the jobs lost because some companies would leave also (factories/head offices)

Québec is a very rich province, in natural ressources, if efficiently exploited, it could bring wealth to this province. Just like it did to Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Ideally they would nationalize all those ressources and exploit it themselves, instead of giving the job to the corporations. It would maximize the revenues to this very province.

EDIT:
