Don't be so sure... He didnt draw up the contract - ejeezy
He said that he hates the contract and he wont sign someone to it..
Trading for someone that is already signed to a contract like that would be like a player saying
'I am not after the big payday, and wont cripple my team with one of them'
And then signing a $10M/year contract, justifying it with
'Well my agent negotiated that. I told him I'm not interested in that, but he did it anyways.'
Whether or not he signed the contract, Burke appears to not want any contracts that are meant to circumvent the cap on his roster. That is the problem , and whether or not he made the contract or traded for it would not change the fact that he has the contract as part of his team. |

ok fair enough.. but if the leafs take on nash i hope they dont take on luongo..
dont need two term inflated contracts..
and i honestly think that there are better options than nash considering howson's price tag - Dozzer
The LEafs need Lou or at least another number 1 tender...this Reimer crap has to end.
I expect big changes this summer...Burkie has to clear the cupboards and get rid of the crap on the roster. Although our cupboards aren't really filled with any A prospects, we could still get a usefull return with our B prospects that we do have. |

Exactly, he wont be signing anyone to one of those contracts...now trading for someone who has one....oh he will do. |

no.. dont move the youth..i disagree with that sentiment entirely..
sell a bit to grab lou, forget about nash, and look for a true centre.. if nothing is available, play the kids and live and die by them |

yeah, it makes no sense.... especially with how well they are playing on the farm right now.
success at those levels translates into success at the NHL level.. ottawa is a prime example of that this season.. they just ran out of gas is all.. but for the most part, they are a young team with valuable experience moving forward |

I think meant clear out the bad contracts (at least that's what i hope he meant). Trading Reimer for Lu is fine by me. No need for him if Lu is in net and Scrivens looks like our guy in the future. |

Dependant on Schultz cap hit but no, close, but no. And I guess that would be an issue. I don't think Phaneuf is taking much of a pay cut, Kessel gets a raise as with Lups, Kadri would for sure on a line with Nash, Gardiner as well. And that's without a 1C. So yeah, 1 of but not both, and I would rather Lu, at least his cap hit is standard for a top teir goalie. Nash? Not so much. |

Any other Diablo 3 players here? I know there was a bunch who were going to get it. If you have signed up already send me a PM with your email or battle.net gamer tag.
I'll be installing and hopefully playing in the next hour and half or so. |

Desperate times call for desperate measures.
If he feels Luongo secures a first round birth that would ultimately save his job, then theres no way he doesn't pull the trigger.

if you are trading for lou it doesn't matter who the 'guy in the future' is, he won't be playing for another 6-8 years.
might as well get a scrub like mason to play his 10-15 games. |

A soon as Toronto lands Lu ... Scrivens then will turn into the new Schneider...and we will be Van 2.0 trying to unload Lu ... |

ha...thats about it.
honestly, I say we stick with the Reimer/Scrivens combo.
grab grigorenko,.
play connolly, lombardi, army and komisarek next season and leave the young marlies like Blacker, Colborne, Ashton etc. to soak up another season of 'winning'.
grab the first overall.
start fresh in 2013-2014. |

If only all of Leafs Nation agreed. There's be too many people calling for Burke's head if we don't do something soon. Or at least make the playoffs next season. That's where the problem lies. |
