Honestly, Is he gonna grade Ron Wilson an F quadruple minus? That's the only thing that would explain it at this point. - Morris
You may not have been around here when the first grades come out, but we all agreed (with the exception of one poster) that an F is an F, and there is no such thing as an F+ or F-.

obviously
but seriously no one was 'great' in the 2nd half of last season. While the forward group could use an overhaul, the defense doesn't need to change that much (atleast in my opinion). Komi is useless, Schenn I'd move if the right offer came around, but between the guys we have and the guys in the system we should be fine - Nastradamus
I like Gardiner and Blacker, so if both play well enough to make the team this summer, what becomes of Franson and Komisarek?

Were you here for the Kadri put on 20+ lbs of muscle this summer fiasco? Now there was 3 entire threads of gut busting entertainment...

Got to believe Franson could interest a few teams, maybe Edmonton? Think the Isles would pick up Komi for cheap? - shinebox
Franson would definitely get picked up. If the Leafs had enough interest in him to take on Lombardi to make it work, somebody out there would gladly pick him up. I wouldn't be surprised if Nashville took him back.

They had best do something, could lose Suter and or Weber soon enough....

If they want to sustain hockey in Nashville, they have to bite the bullet and sign at least one of them to one of those huge 10 year deals. At the very worst, the market has a guy that they can put on a pedestal and generate interest off of over the long haul.
Fact is though, that franchise is still hurting. They're 20th in attendance, who knows what their ticket prices are like and committing to big long term contracts is a huge risk for them. They already have Rinne but they need Weber.

My guess is they will either sign them both or neither.

It's up to the players. Other franchises can offer them the same money (actually more) and offer them a chance to win. Nashville just can't afford the horse AND the carriage.
The only way they can keep them both is if they take a huge financial risk, over a long period of time and both players are willing to become the pillars of the franchise. And on top of that, they have to pay to keep adding more players up front.

Okay, admittedly you're not finished, but I've got a question about your methodology. Are you using standard academic letter grades? Are these grades normalized against the mean?
I'm confused: Your top 4 dmen scores a solid B and your top6 forwards score a B- (0.1 below a B). In fact, take Kulemin and Connolly out of the picture and you've got a group of forwards scoring a B+ so far.
How did this team come 26th? According to the grades so far, the conclusion would have to be bad goaltending. It wasn't great, but teams like TB, Chicago and Philadelphia had comparable tandems in terms of sv %, and their 7 shutouts puts them 8th in the league (behind 4 other teams with just one more shutout each I might add).

Like i said, this is the only way i see them getting signed, i believe that happens or they are both gone. Maybe someone offer sheets Weber and Nashville takes the compensation? What would be the compensation for him anyways?
