It's hard to say what Montreal is gonna do because of the new GM there. You can pick out patterns in the guys that have been with their teams awhile. The original thought was Montreal will go with a defensemen. Someone that will be a cornerstone on their blueline for years to come. Now, I'm not so sure. - HonkFortheGoose
Most of the mocks I've seen have them taking Grigorenko.

Jeff Carter hat trick...wow imagine that. - SABRES 89
I said this before. As much as I didn't want Carter, I'm enjoying the fact that Richards and Carter are both still playing hockey and the Flyers aren't.
That being said, I fear what goes around, comes around. Watch whatever team the Sabres trade Roy to this summer win the cup.

I would have taken Carter in a second on the Sabres.

I still don't. He's playing second/third fiddle in LA right now, which is where he belongs. He'd be the top guy here, and people would get tired of him real fast.

me too. when he's on, he's on. i feel the same way about semin. i know these players aren't popular because they're not always "on" and don't always play defense but when they're on, they're friggin scary.
i think it'd be kind of funny if holmgrens two trades players traded from last season ended up winning a cup before the flyers did. that being said, i still like the trades he made A LOT.

Not for the price it took to get him you wouldn't have. - dadeadhead
we probably could've gotten him for sekera.
jack johnson is talented offensively but is pathetic in his own zone, i partially attribute their good play to him being gone. don't get me wrong, i love his offensive skills but he's a liability.

only player equal to Johnson on our roster is Myers.
If the Sabres believe that Galchenyuk is the prize of the draft, they need to get into the top 2 picks. I've seen mocks with him going 2nd overall and I doubt he gets past Montreal. - dadeadhead
I agree with that. And Id actually be perfectly fine with them drafting, say, Gaunce with their own pick. Galchenyuk may end up being that franchise-type guy though.
