Nice try.
Myers and Johnson are similar though. - dadeadhead
Your high...not even close. Myers is a better player better check again. |

Myers 108 point in the last 3 yrs
Johnson 116 in the last 3 yrs
I've seen the game footage of both and they're both a mess in their own end.
I've seen Myers do snow angel's more that any supposed future Norris trophy candidate ever.

Supposedly Columbus does not want to draft a Russian this year; with the busts of Zherdev and Filatov, they cannot afford to take one with the second overall pick (even if the Russians in this year's draft have been playing in North America for years).
They also have a lot of needs, including an offensive defenseman and a play making center for Nash. Making a trade with the Blue Jackets for the second overall pick will let the Sabres get the center in Alex Galchenyuk.
To BUF: 2012 1st round pick (2nd overall)
To CBS: 2012 1st round pick (12th overall), 2nd round pick (42nd overall), Derek Roy, Andrej Sekera
If another pick or prospect is needed, I'd throw in 2013 1st round pick; the UFA class is stronger next year and if the Sabres have a successful year (as expected), that pick will be in the late teens or twenties. |

Good for Columbus Galchenyuk was born in Wisconsin then.
After the Carter experiment in Columbus, you really think they'd be interested in Roy?
I don't.

And Myers is a superstar?
Yep thats what I thought, they're both average at best as of right now.
Edit: Johnson hits and blocked shots over the last three years 335 and 348
Myers 276 and 305.
They are very similar players as of now. |

Nash won't be in Columbus at the start of the season. So that center thing doesn't even matter that much. He wants a trade, they managed to F it up at the deadline. I doubt he's going to go into camp very happy if it's still in the state of Ohio. |

All they had/have to do was/is fire Howson and I think Nash would stay IMO. |

i'm thinking a whooper on trade day (since montreal is probably going to screw us and pick galchenyuk at 3 when 4 seemed like a decent place to trade to get him before the new canadiens gm came to be)
i'm thinking something like:
Nash + pick #2 for galchenyuk to buff
vanek, 12# buff, nash #1, buff #2, sekera, defensive prospect not named JGL, Mcnabb, Psysk |

Nash has a NMC and said he won't change his ok list. Unless he's a liar I have to take him at his word. |

And since Howson came right out and said that Nash asked for a trade, all he did was lower his trade value. Between that and the cost of his contract, Nash is going to be very difficult for Columbus to trade at this point. The return on him will be considerably lower. |

Trading Vanek for Nash doesn't make sense for us in a lot of ways. I realize that you have it as an overall package and really the benefit for us would be getting Galchenyuk, but I don't see Columbus trading both Nash and their #2 to the same team. |

As much as Columbus is anti-russian, I see them trying to pull a Burkie and the Sedins and try to get Yakupov and Galchenyuk.
Using Nash to get Toronto's #5 then fliping it around to where Edmonton ends up with Murray and them getting the 2 from Sarnia.
Just food for thought. |

That is interesting. But with the history that Columbus has had with Russians, do you really think this is something they would actually want to do? I just can't see it. It's an interesting prospect, but I don't know that it's something we'd see them even attempt to do. |

The 5th overall and Kadri plus to Columbus for Nash
The 5th and Mason plus to the Islanders for Dipietro and the 4th
The 4th and Brassard to Montreal for the 3rd.
The 3rd and Johansen to Edmonton for the 1st.
Toronto gets Nash
The Islanders still get Forsberg, get DiPietro off their books
Montreal get their French center along with still getting Grigorenko
Edmonton gets their future #2 center in Johansen and are able to draft Murray.
Columbus gets Yakupov, Galchenyuk, Kadri, and DiPietro.

columbus wants NOW players not a UFA in a year (roy ) and a mediocre defenseman. lets not kid ourselves...we all know sekera is worthless hes a #4 defenseman at best and nothing more. this guy has been a healthy scratch multiple times over the past two years. a lot of you guys with these trade proposals are so ignorant

Wow. You put a lot of thought into that. But that's an awful lot of movement for 1 team. Especially when the GM of that team has already proven he's too inept to pull anything of that caliber off. |

Catenacci has put up 70+ points in his first 2 years in the OHL. I'm sure if he was in the Q, it would easily be over 100. He was drafted in the 3rd round, so sounds like Richards went right where I would have expected him to. |
